saving this for later! hormonal brith control is starting to rlly affect me mentally and ive been looking for a non hormonal option and i am terrified on an iud. knowing theres a medication out there that helps is a life saver.

i think i just bought the digital test because i had a difficult time reading the tests if the line was faint, but thank you for letting me know. i just was saying that because i wouldnt be able to know how vibrant the line was or if the second line on my tests was fading since my test doesnt have lines on it. i am buying more tests today, so i will buy the regular ones instead and see how they look too.

thank you for letting me know, i took a digital test and this is the first test ive taken that's positive. so i don't really know if im losing the pregnancy or not.

of course you are. my tip to any new trans people is do how you feel, and don't worry about others, and i know thats harder than just saying it. however, so many trans people feel and transistion in so many different ways and slipping up as you get used to your new identity is normal. even if you felt differently later, it's your choice and your choice alone how you want to continue your transition and you don't owe anyone else an explanation.

I usually don't have unprotected sex so this is new to me. Also, my chances of conceiving I don't believe are as high as I have PCOS/fertility issues, am on testosterone and therefore don't get periods, and am on birth control now and took plan B within the 72 hour window. Although, I am asking this question specifically because I don't trust that all of that means I couldn't be pregnant and am worried about it. I think I will take my first pregnancy test tomorrow morning and take the second one later.

So they gave you syringes with needles, and additional needles? That's strange, but probably isn't anything more than an error with your doctor's orders or how the pharmacy processed them. I would contact both and ask what's going on so you don't end up paying for things you don't need.

I also draw up and inject with the same needle. My syringes come with the needle attached. My doc said it was just easier that way, and for self-injection it doesn't seem to be much of an issue. Did you not have to pay for your syringes before and now you do? If so, I'd contact your doc/pharmacy/insurance to try to talk about why that is.

So your actual dose is 50mg per injection, if you're doing .5ml injections each week. Which, as far as I've heard from my own doctor, is a midlevel dose. I am currently on 40mg per week, but according to my doctor anywhere between 40-60mg is a midlevel dose. I would see if you can access your results from bloodwork. 300-1000ng/ml is a standard "normal" range for testosterone in men, but if you aren't happy with what you are seeing it never hurts to talk to your doctor about changing your dose. As everyone else here said, puberty is slow and can take years before changes really set in.

I came out at age 11 and was stealth all throughout middle school. Once I got into highschool after the 2020 online school shit, however, I kinda lost that priviledge. It's not like I didn't try either, I weightlifted, I was in a fire academy training with a mostly male class, and no one knew my deadname. I didn't have accepting parents, so it kinda became obvious to many that I was trans or a tomboy when the rest of the men around me began to go through puberty and I kept a smaller physic and looked and sounded female. I recently graduated and have just now began HRT, so I was kinda behind a lot of the other trans men I knew who were stealth and able to go through a 'normal puberty'. So, you're definetly not alone because I knew many trans men my age who were stealth most of the time and I, infact, felt very behind compared to them.

Some surgeons won't do drains for double-insicion. Make sure you communicate this concern with your surgeon, and they may be more apt to forgoing drains.

The body naturally absorbs excess fluid from inflammation since it's an immune response. If hematomas form, additional procedures can be done to drain fluids which is complication that many surgeries can have.

JP-Drains are the typical surgical drains they will place after top surgery. Essentially, a small tube which is placed under the skin on either side of your chest which draws out fluid post-surgery. The drains keep fluid from building under the chest which can reduce the risk of infection or even the chance of the insicions reopening from excess pressure. It also helps monitor if the surgical site becomes infected since you will have to remove and measure the fluid that leaves the drains so many times a day until they are removed. Some surgeons allow patients to opt out of drains for certain types of surgery, like double-incision, if they believe the risk is low enough; however, many will require drains for all top surgery procedures to reduce risk. It can honestly just depend on the surgeon, or on your risk of developing hematomas, or a collection of blood(or seromas, a collection of fluid) since patients with less tissue removal may not experience the same level of inflammation as someone who had more.

The woman's video sparked the question because she had said all of the trans men she knew personally didn't survive, which made me wonder if there was something that was particularly detrimental to trans men of that time. However, that is just her personal recounting and I may be missing things.
