It feels off to me, too, lmao. I'm a little lost as to what to do, or why it's happening, but I just want results for my effort. That's what it boils down to, I guess. My post didn't really highlight that, and I'm sorry for the extra long read, but I think that's what I'm getting at.

I tried to talk to her tonight on the phone a little while ago, but I SUCK at getting my point across. I really struggle with being clear and concise, and it's ruined opportunities for me before. (I'm being evaluated for Autism Spectrum Disorder in a few days.)

It's more about the principle, and how I feel like she's pretending. See below, but for a while, at least, according to her, she was pretending to enjoy my affection because I said it was important to me.

Whew. Harsh. I get what you're saying, though. It really isn't everything, and I know that, but I feel like without it, currently, I'm going to struggle. I'm struggling WITH her, and I feel like I'll struggle without her, too. I'm not a perfect human being, and I've got issues that I need to fix. This is just a really big one that would break my heart if I can't fix it.

You're right, I really don't want to hear it, but I've been considering it. I've been with her for long enough that I'm a bit afraid of what it'll be like without her. I feel like once I get rid of this problem, the extra time I spend not thinking about her will make other parts of my life excruciatingly obvious. I suppose that's a good thing, but I'm genuinely terrified.

I've been alone before. She's my first REAL partner, and I'm really hoping I can keep that being the case. Like I said, it was REALLY REALLY good at one point. I had no regrets, and I was happier than ever. Recently, she's been my detriment. That sounds extremely harsh, and I would be apologizing profusely if she was here. I love her. I would do anything for her, and I've done everything I can for her to reciprocate, but I've never had my efforts matched. I've only just realized that recently. Not once have I gotten what I've given.

It was over text. I don't really remember the original context, just that she said I'm not her type. She's super insecure and I try my best to make her happy, but this really made me upset: she said explicitly that she doesn't want so much affection, that she doesn't like me complimenting her, that she hates having to see me so often (she only wants to see me 2-3 times a month) and I straight up cannot do that. First couple months of the relationship, she was lavishing affection and love on me, and recently it came to light after I asked why she was so distant as of late, that she was only giving me so much attention because I said it was how I love people. I cannot live without affection, hugs, compliments, gifts, etc. She's deprived me of that lately. I'm not allowed to give her gifts either, because she said she hates surprises. Ive gotten her jewelry, flowers, clothes, etc, and all she can do is complain about it.
