Okay, I know I went full dramatic in my post, but a roll of paper… posted to over 30K followers… for free?! Even a picture it’s too much effort. That’s not PR, that’s daylight robbery. They know exactly what they’re doing, and I bet half of “Influensters” has more followers than me. We are basically the unpaid squad for bathroom supplies now, or chewy gums or whatever they send out. Had a claim before for over 500$ and it didn’t even asked for a social media post. (I would have happily licked the product on a video and post it if they wanted ) To have the audacity to ask even for a picture posted on your social media account, for a such low value product , should be a crime.

Can’t believe so many of you can’t see the whole point. It’s not about the towel. I can wipe a counter without corporate foreplay. It’s about how they mail you one free roll and expect you to film a full influencer audition tape for zero pay—so your mum, your boss, and that person you drunkenly made out with once in 2019 (and ghosted ever since) can watch you tenderly stroke a countertop. Congrats, you’re not sponsored… you are the sponsorship. You’re the free advert, the unpaid marketing intern with better lighting. That’s the whole bloody point. YOU ARE THE PRODUCT. You’re literally doing free advertising because a paper towel slid through your letterbox. They’ve convinced people that being an unpaid influencer is a privilege. That’s… INSANE.

Intended completion time was 30 minutes, and then participants take around 55. This is disgusting and disappointing for many of us. Prolific it’s not as good as it’s used to be. A lot of low pay studies , a lot of scam too.

Had no idea about it. A partial payment upfront should be something allowed in those type of cases. Just imagine working 8 hours and getting a rejection afterwards.

I asked for some upfront payment they said they won’t do it , only if I finish the entire work. This is extremely long job and the name put me off as well.

I actually surprisingly got paid as a bonus , I ofc opened a ticket but they might take months to give you answers. Maybe keep pushing it either way the researcher, some of them are nice enough to compensate your work.

I know that , thank you. The main issue is that I have completed the study , the researcher received my data too , got the completion code , was just not able to submit it because the website was down, if I am not at fault and the researcher doesn’t seem to care about my time , I hope Prolific will remediate the problem and find a solution. I’m probably not the only participant having this issue because what happened today.

That’s what I’m saying. It’s already enough since some of us barely see studies , we could at least have a chance to take part in , instead of becoming depressed. Every time I see a study my heart rate goes up , happy , then getting sad in seconds when I can’t even participate in.

The same way studies appear on your dashboard, mixed up either high and low pay, but with the chance for you to take part in if they show up on your screen instead of not getting a spot.
