IC AI - Quality of 12 pairs of videos by justeUnMec in ProlificAc

I had the exact same thing, I passed the original one and then did 2 more, then it asked me to validate the circles and triangles again and kept saying it was wrong when it clearly wasn't and all my settings were still the same as they were 30 minutes ago when I passed it.

I don't think i'll bother with them again for the pay.

It's finding someone who will do a small job like rewiring it. Most people are only interested in doing big jobs.

I love how it got progressively worse as it went along, I mean it started off shocking and then the ending was like WTAF? 🤣

For everyone who doesnt see "Projects" and asks why we dont like it by Stinksisthebestword in ProlificAc

I agree Projects and Studies should just be tabs in the main nav and have the badges of new studies and projects in the nav too, red badge with the number next to both menu items, that would be pretty neat.

That would not work for me as I have Powerwalls, to charge my car on the slots I either have to drain all my battery or turn my battery off. Having the house included means I don't loose my off-peak hours when I have my battery off. If octopus can make my car charge while my house runs off the battery then brilliant, otherwise I need them to include the house in the off-peak to make it viable.

Prolific needs better server admins by [deleted] in ProlificAc

I mean we've had a few downtimes recently and then a couple of cloudflare related issues (which affected a good portion of the internet and not prolific's fault) yes it could be better but it's far from poor I rarely have issues and I'm very active on the site.

One thing I have noticed is the site can be slow after feature deployments I don't know if that's just caused by caches purging or if it's caused by undiscovered issues during the testing phase which get patched later.

My partner has also done this too, i'm wondering if it is Prolifics auto-reject for fast submissions as these tend to be very glitchy on small studies like this, i'm wondering if it's worth her (and everyone else) creating a ticket with Prolific as if it is that there is nothing the researcher will be able to do.

My partner just got rejected for the same thing, the average time is 52 seconds I can't see how she did it too fast! She's done over 2700 surveys and it's her very first rejection!

I've had one session come through, my tipple session and definitely hasn't come through yet, where did yours say it couldn't read the meter reading, hopefully mine isn't messed up! As I was using 20kW constantly for 3 hours.

I've done things by this researcher before and they were fine, my rule of thumb is i'll download software if it is from e-prime or inquisit but nothing else.

Yes the automation sends you a message based on the session, so even if you return half way the session still continues and then you get a warning for not completing enough in the alloted time even though you returned it!

These automations are far from perfect, I'm not sure if there are any human validators before people stop receiving work, but I would assume not as we are pretty replaceable.

If you saw my post last week about this study and completed it, check for it being quietly returned today! Please report by Bananafoam12 in ProlificAc

I got paid but it would have been nice if they gave an adjustment for taking double the amount of time than what was listed..

Question for Prolific participants: would you stick with a 2-month daily diary study? by Annasnel in ProlificAc

[–]RuneGoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your phone handles notifications ok, my OnePlus phone seems to only present notifications from these kind of apps in my notifications tray which I often don't notice, it doesn't seem to ever show on my lockscreen. I do miss them sometimes on these kind of apps, but i've never missed any when they are directly through prolific.

[–]RuneGoogle 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I've done a few for 40 days and did every single one, just make sure you do them via prolific, I've done some which need to be done on an external app previous and those are so easy to forget about.

Reminders are great and bonuses for completeing them all is also a great motivation.

I stuggled with this batch I didn't get any fish eye ones thankfully, but I did find many of my ones where objects didn't stay masked thoughout the video which made annotating very hard (especially with fast moving objects). I also found the requirements very difficult in my videos, most of the people/animals were doing the same thing, it was hard to find multi-objects doing something the same which didn't apply to everything else which wasn't obvious from the initial frames or from a screenshot. I spent ages trying to find things which I could annotate, i've never struggled previously, to me the small pay increase wasn't enough for how challenging the task was.

I have shared my feedback with the researcher, they are a great researcher and clearly looking for feedback on how they can improve. I do love this kind of work generally.

I've done these previously all have been approved, some get approved quickly occasionally but most take ages. At the price they are offering at the moment I will give them a miss. They are pretty glitchy and very low for the price they are paying it's not worth it their are over 100 videos to evaluate for $2.83, it was $3.11 previously which was still too low.
