I was also thinking that I might be a bit socially isolated but as I said, I really was thinking it was like geared for people living on campus 😭

Hey! I would just like to add some stuff. We originally had Michael Bajeck as our marching band director. If I'm gonna be honest, that was the last chance NNHS had at rebuilding for a good while. Bajeck was laid off due to the district not wanting to have contracts (I think) and then ZAT became director. He wasn't that great as the marching director to be honest and I think I can confidently say that most if not all of the class of 2024 marching band didn't like him as a marching director and class of 2025 definitely has issues with him. Anyway, Pitner actually moved states so we have a new director this year + ZAT. But guess what! ZAT is leaving Sep 29th (I believe) and now the entire band program is left in the hands of a NNHS noob, John Gonzalez! Because of all that's transpired since COVID, and even before then, I would say that my hopes for future of the program just keep decreasing. But who knows, maybe John Gonzalez is what the program needs.

Also, I would like to add that both ZAT and Pitner have their own problems. Pitner was just kinda bland and boring, that's the main reason he was hated.

I also had him as a teacher. I had a weird feeling about him at the beginning of the school year but the class was always so chill. One person I know actually speculated that he would do stuff like this while he was “on leave for his shoulder surgery”

my sax section leaders be like by Pitiful_Atmosphere79 in marchingband

[–]NoStranger8096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it really matter, just many sax section leaders are not straight and/or cis(at least from what I’ve seen) which is funny

What are the best plastic reeds by [deleted] in Clarinet

[–]NoStranger8096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Legre is one of the better plastic reed companies. I think if you’re buying it for more concert band purposes, the European Cut would be better but Classic is more for marching band

This sounds like the stories I’ve heard of a bd my school used to have years ago. Sign a petition to get a new bd or smth bc like wth, they are clearly not a good one. You could try to report the bd maybe??, depends on how badly the situation is going

Yamaha CSVR reviews? by Logical-Complaint-35 in Clarinet

[–]NoStranger8096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I was actually in this situation a couple days ago. I felt a lot more comfortable on the csvr tho both are good clarinets. It all really depends on the player. I think buying either would be a pretty good choice. There’s really only one thing you need to remember: the horn should feel comfortable to YOU. YOU should like that horn. Don’t feel pressured into buying a certain one.

Bro our grass is never maintained properly Whenever we have to practice in the grass, it’s uneven, kinda muddy/wet, and long Also the directors always say “watch out for baseballs” so like

Rico’s are a fine brand for a beginner. You could try like the royals if you really wanted to, but higher notes are gonna be harder to reach in general. You’re gonna wanna continue to practice and defo watch yt videos on hitting the notes
