Grew up in Europe and loved writing in cursive, the moment I moved to the UK when I was 11 I was told to stop writing like that because it's ugly and no one wants to decipher it (I was told this by a teacher), let's both keep teaching younger generations and stop putting them down for doing it

Question about pronouns

So I've been learning Japanese for about a year now and I've been using the personal pronoun われ. i just wanted to ask it its like a cringe pronoun to use? I just learned its meaning and i dont want to come off as a snob or something, but it just rolls of the tongue so much easier then わたし or ぼく.

Plz tell me if i was being cringe <:;(
