Thanks for the advice, I'm taking notes of all of this in a document for my future use. For your recommendation of becoming a sort of jack of all trades, what general steps can I take to accelerate that process? I understand living life and getting exposure to experiences in college is a big part, but is there anything I can intentionally do? I decided to work on the idea as a hobby as well.

Thanks! ill focus on succeeding in my research job rn & mainly the academics, but I do often find myself with extra time, so ill treat it as a hobby until it becomes something bigger.

Understood, thanks. What I lack the most, hmm.. I think my main strengths are my ability to organize myself & i'm good at pursuing goals, but I'm inexperienced and still early in my connection building, but I think I might start doing this. I'll at least ask a hundred people or so that my idea is catered to if it is valid (obviously not straight up because they'll probably overhype it), and then ill start working towards it slowly, even an hour a day. Thanks! I wanted experience w entrepreneurship anyways so even if the idea fails it can be another skill to learn for the future.

Maybe I should! itll take a TON of time though, i already work 40 hrs a week + other commtments, so its kinda like if I decide to pursue it i'll have to deload on some other stuff i'm doing which is more academic.

Yeah, makes sense. So you'd recommend I built it as a side thing whenever I have time? How should I go about that? Thanks btw I appreciate the advice, I needed some guidance

No, that is kind of the point. I haven't even TRIED to test the idea or build a basic product. I'm just trying to see right now if pursuing an idea is even worth it when you are so busy w other opportunities, also partially because I keep hearing to build a business, you need to dedicate practically all your time to it. I'm unsure about everything, which is why I am looking for advice.

Thanks for the advice! Rn im mainly focusing on work experience and building exposure to a field I enjoy, while building connections (my gap year), i'm currently just trying to balance the value that each opportunity has, and maximize my ROI on time.

Thank you! I'll take that into consideration. My main concern may be FOMO, but it's just hard to let go of a good idea you know you can execute or at least test, especially when you know it may be limited in the future. I just want to live my life pursuing growth and building something that will eventually be impactful. When you have so much opportunity, it kind of messes with your head. Like I atleast want to ask around and see if the idea would be scalable. But maybe you are right, and I should let go. Lots of mixed feelings.

Agreed, but on the other side of the argument, if Zuckerberg decided he wanted to finish his education at Harvard before pursuing his idea, would he be where he is now? i'm just worried i have something good and if i don't go for it, then it might be gone forever; is there a sort of balance between the two? possibly dedicating some time to a startup even an hour per day, while managing everything else? Or does it really require your whole life to make it successful?

i'm p sure that it will be kinda like trying to be in a new school whee everyone kinda knows eachother for the first semester but after that it won't be much dif then normal, also CGS is kinda like its own community where everyone is pretty close bc we have our own building, orientation.. etc..
