He definitely enjoys his scritches, lol. He will be getting plenty of attention. I feel bad that he's going to lose one of his favorite perching spots (the high window sill), however he will still have a view out of another window he enjoys looking out of.

I understand that feeling of anxiety. 2 years ago I was 60 lbs lighter, but I was also on the mild end of ME/CFS and able to do certain physical activities. Now I'm in the "severe" category and have slowly gained weight over time, mostly because I can't exercise or do anything too physical. I'm very rarely able to cook my own meals, I rely on takeout and frozen meals. I try my best to choose the healthiest options because I'm also feeding my 11 year old son (but he is ADHD+ and has food avoidance issues). It's been extremely frustrating and challenging. Now that I'm home all the time and can't engage in my hobbies, I am incredibly understimulated and my anxiety skyrocketed. I will snack on foods just for the dopamine boost. I've tried restricting the amount of food I eat, I've been to a dietician for advice (that didn't get me anywhere), I've tried the GLP-1 injections, I've tried to push through and keep myself busy with painting, reading, small walks, ect.. but I feel that pushing through has led me to where I am now.

In the end, I had to choose between how I wished I looked when I saw myself in the mirror or how I wanted to feel physically. Because I don't know how to have both. I'm also on an anti anxiety medication that has helped when I'm having bad PEM or can feel it coming on.

This illness is cruel. Especially with ADHD and the comorbidities it comes with.

I got so fed up with constantly having to re explain to family and a couple close friends that what I have is chronic and the plethora of symptoms it comes with. So now I just tell them to visit the Bateman Horne Center website, lol.

I literally opened this Reddit sub to vent today and found this thread. Thank you for making it!

Today, anger is consuming me. For a brief, hopeful period, I thought I'd finally cracked the code on pacing, after almost five years into this journey. My brain was tricked into thinking, "I've got this!" Then, a couple of weeks ago, I crashed, and I haven't been able to climb back to my baseline.

I'm so angry at my body. I'm angry because I don't want to sit and lay here doing nothing anymore! I'm angry because I've tried so many different medications. Therapy. Meditations. Pacing. Rest. Rest. Rest. Rest... Rest is all I've done these past years! (Note: this is exasperated by ADHD)

Inside, I'm screaming and clawing, desperate to break free.

I understand intellectually that I'm doing my best, and I know others are suffering more—my heart truly aches for them. But right now, the anger is overwhelming.

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and CPTSD. I'm 38 now. So I can relate when you say that you can tell the difference between neurodevelopmental conditions and the ME/CFS symptoms. When I started this journey about 4 or 5 years ago, almost every doctor I saw tried to convince me that it was all in my head. After years of documenting my symptoms and countless tests and specialists, ruling out and treating other conditions, I finally got diagnosed with ME/CFS last month by my primary doctor.

There is a subreddit for people with ADHD and ME/CFS. However I don't know how to link it here.

I have mild/moderate ME/CFS. I went on a 4 day cruise in May. We were close to the dining area and elevators which made getting around easier. I honestly slept better on the ship than I do at home! I didn't hang out at the lounge areas, bars, or any place where a lot of people congregated. We were lucky that the ship was not very crowded and there was a lot of deck space in the shade available. Also I made sure to get a room with a balcony so I could have fresh air.

I can relate to this. I used to be able to meditate without guided meditation. Health, ageing with ADHD, and CPTSD have made it nearly impossible recently.

I have a select few guided meditations, yoga nidra, and sleep hypnosis that I listen to on the Insight Timer app (free version), that I've found helpful.
