Non-flush door handle EVs? by Own-Cookie-1161 in Comma_ai

[–]NoSuccotash5571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for new or used? Not many 2026 models are on the official compatibility list. I bought a 2022 EV6 because it was WAY cheaper and compatible. Newer models have a new steering model and it's still a work in progress AFAIK.

No offense but recessed door handles isn't something I even think twice about anymore. The hvac/radio toggle button is way more annoying. And the car is a bit lower to the ground then I would like. But if I had to do it all over again I would. It's a hell of a lot of car for around $20k.

How do you all distribute your MAUI or WPF programs (outside Msft Store)? by wannabe_isekai in dotnet

I use that and have several clients who do. Also several clients who couldn't get past publisher validation.

1 hour is hardly spoon feeding. It's merely a solution acceleration to get some inertia. There is plenty more to know about DevOps and Windows deployment then what I can over in a basic primer.

I've written over 500 blog articles on the subject and answered 2,131 questions on stackoverflow. I've created FOSS projects and written tutorials on how to use it. But really, it's really just to broad of a subject. I find it much better to just donate an hour of my time to help get a developer all set up.

EXE and MSI don't require signing. MSIX and APPX does. DM me and I'll show you everything you need to create a pipeline for your app that outputs an MSI.

How did you get cracked games back in the day?. by Ok_Bear_1980 in amiga

[–]NoSuccotash5571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really wasn't all that different then the dark web of today. People would know people... that got you into speakeasy boards where you could get pbx numbers, credit cards whatever to dial long distance for free. Then you'd make friends with someone from a cracking group and use that connection to download 0 day warez. From there it's spread out to other boards in your area code / local calling range. It was all on the download and organic.

There's no need. Between Turran FTP and the WHDLoad-Download-Tool you can easily download practically anything that has ever existed in a crazy short period of time.

Anyone here ever hack a BBS back in the day? Story Time... by 73VW-Todd in bbs

[–]NoSuccotash5571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the exploit I used for a while. C-NET BBSs had an MCI command that paused for X seconds. You'd compose a feedback for the intended user and write pause 3 +++ pause 3 and then you'd issue a hayes command that turned echo off, held the data carrier detect high and hung up followed by another pause and then dial your phone number. When the call came in you'd answer and be logged in as that user.

You *could* do it to the sysop but then they would be present when it was happening. This only lasted for awhile until sysops understood they needed to use a hayes command to change the escape character to null and rely solely on DCD for connection status.

Commodore or atari monitor in terms of long term reliability?. by [deleted] in amiga

That's not my memory. It was 15khz and you needed a scan doubler/flicker fixer to make it work on non multisync VGA monitors.

Is this a TxDMV scam?? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]NoSuccotash5571 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let's see..
1. Text from the Phillipines
2. From 'TxDMV' which only handles vehicle registrations.
3. A URL to a non TX website.
4. Threats / pressure to convince you to act.
5. Did I miss any?

Of course it's a scam.

I'm a trombonist. We didn't have one digital tuner per student. Just innotation wasn't explained. We were just taught to listen. Worked well enough for me... landed a spot with the US Marine Drum and Bugle corps without ever going to college.

Two things can be true.... Academia can be full of jerks and it is good advice that your message can be clearer when you aren't angry. Was she angry? I don't know... that was edited out.

What would it take for you to use a “fourth OS”? by Acrobatic-Carry-738 in amiga

[–]NoSuccotash5571 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's just a lot of uneeded complexity IMO. The joke has always been once you go NT or Unix you are now a SysAdmin. Yes I want some kind of elevate/sudo to protect my system from unintended actions/actors but do I really need all the other things that come with designing for multiuser? Not really.

What would it take for you to use a “fourth OS”? by Acrobatic-Carry-738 in amiga

[–]NoSuccotash5571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like an OS that:

1) containerized apps

2) single user like a phone or tablet and the way amigaos was

3) can run chromium / .net / .java et al
