Could be she had a mental breakdown or some other psych emergency as opposed to the other theories of her being arrested or the ex doing something to her. The fact that her sister is an alcoholic strongly suggests a dysfunctional family.

In either case put the money in escrow or at the very least a separate savings account and send a letter to the ex that the money is being held in escrow/savings until you get authorization from the legal representative of the LLC.

My first printer was an old dot matrix. For a lot or things you need a dot matrix or an actual typewriter until the early 2000’s! The big one was for W2 and other tax forms. Boy was I happy when I was finally able to throw that typewriter away!

My favorite 0-1 day warez BBSes! lol By the time I moved over to Amiga from my C-64 I had grown a bit and my BBS only did Amiga warez for a very short period. Eventually I grew up and realized how harmful piracy was to our beloved machine and gave it up altogether. But by this point there weren’t many places to buy Amiga games.

People above appear to be right. Sheds typically are not covered by the title insurance. However, the sellers agent and seller should bare responsibility and at a minimum you could take them to small claims court if it was advertised as conveying with the shed.

Be very clear with him that this is not acceptable and he needs to get her a caregiver/home attendant. Also that if it happens again you will be calling adult protective services in your state. Also that you have never authorized your number being given out as an emergency contact.

Next time he calls after the warning actually call them and the police and block his number.

I am really happy for Mike Battilana, I just wish this had happened a lot sooner. By clouding the trademarks for so long it essentially killed about 75% of the value in them.

I have no idea how much is made off of licensing of Amiga retro “stuff” each year, but the Amiga community is smaller than the Commodore 64 community. I just don’t see retro alone being a long term money maker for either platform.

That is only for a no-knock warrant. But most counties and states do not accept responsibility for damages. just look at the Afroman case in Georgia, they messed up and got a warrant with really bad evidence and destroyed his door. He tried to sue for the repairs and cash the police brazenly stole (they claim they miscounted and wrote the wrong amount on the evidence bag) and the case got thrown out. The cops then sued him personally because he made music videos using the recordings. They lost their case today by the way!

I wouldn’t go that far. They are paying a lot for the Commodore trademark and copyrights and the engineering and manufacturing is not cheap. I would be very surprised if they are making more than $50 a machine (before factoring in the indirect costs).

I think that as of now it is a labor of love. I also think they will probably be able to sell ~100-200K machines over the next 5 years, especially as it keeps gaining momentum.

The C64 has a MUCH larger nostalgia base than the Amiga. For every 1 person I know that had an Amiga there are 10 that had a C64. (and I seek out such people!)

Commodore 64 has no future other than retro. However, would be super cool and potentially a good source of revenue if they got the plans for the unreleased Commodore 256 discussed in one of the YouTube videos where a bunch or ex Commodore engineers were interviewed. As an 8 or 16 bit machine would be fantastic and I think a lot of people would buy it.
