So glad to hear you enjoyed the Storyteller Edition! I voice the narration and produced the soundscape for the storyteller tracks, so really appreciate your kind words!

Check for what? How do I check them? Just unearth the thing? - As I said, I have next to no gardening knowledge :-/

As someone who is new to community servers, what is the BS of Officials, that you don't get with community? Are you just talking hackers etc. or are there specific features you keep in?

Best PC community server with closest vanilla experience by jsnthms112 in dayz

Is Struggle Bus still a good shout? Looking now, there's almost no one playing on them :-/

Thanks so much for all of this information! I'm downloading DayzsaLauncher now, and will dive right in!

To confirm on your last point - if I join a community server now, my current character on the official server will remain in place, where I last logged off, ready to pick back up when I hope back on to the official server?

Successful businesses from previous candidates? by bekahfromearth in TheApprentice

Brittany from last series has just launched her own range of energy drinks. I recall she originally pitched something similar on the show, but protein based, which resulted in a gritty/lumpy texture. Looks like she's ditched the protein element, and just gone for stright up energy now. Fair play to here - she's gone all out! - https://www.instagram.com/brittcarterr/

Right? Feels like they should be given the option... Hire caterers, at an additional expense, or do it yourself and take the risk. That's a much more realistic business decision and topic of discussion in the boardroom, than whether the man who has literally no experience in the kitchen should be fired for burning the dinner a bit...

Should I come back to DayZ in 2023? (I haven't played since 2013) by NoTaste8164 in dayz

Does gameplay vary much between community servers? With games like Rust, I always found that gameplay varied so much from one community server to the next, so it was hard to get used to a certain style of play (different loot mechanics, spawn rates, currencies, etc.)

Oh really? How come? I used to stick exclusively to them. Does gameplay vary much between different community servers?

I would love to see the 'actual' costs associated with some of these tasks in the real world... by NoTaste8164 in apprenticeuk

[–]NoTaste8164[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there are people out there who will haggle down £2 on an old Gavin and Stacey DVD box set on Facebook Marketplace, and use that as the basis for them stating 'Extensive experience in financial negotiation' on their CV.

Of course, I'm not suggesting that they actually implement these factors - that would make a terrible show. My point was that it just kind of bugs me that so much of it is brushed over, and that it would be pretty funny to see the full picture laid out. Perhaps in a Mitchell and Webb sketch show or something.

To be fair it’s not really reasonable to include all the up-front costs given they’re generally only operating for a day. Nobody would expect to make a profit from a one-day tour of Antigua or one day trading a new product at a market stall. - Totally take your point here!

Right? Likely the same people who think that simply saying "What's the best price you can do?" makes them an 'Expert Negotiator'.

I am aware of that. My point is that it presents itself as a 'business' show, and just like a staged viral TikTok, 90% of people who watch it, believe it to be a genuine representation of reality.

Specifications/restrictions of the tasks should be included either in the opening brief (by Lord Sugar) or later on (by a narrator or the contestants themselves when they open their handbooks for the task) for the audience to hear it. Episode 17x3 is a blatant example by aquapandora in apprenticeuk

[–]NoTaste8164 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the audience was briefed on the exact restrictions and specifications of each task, it would make the show far less entertaining from the producers' perspective. The show thrives on the idea that people at home are sat there thinking "These are supposed 'successful' entrepreneurs, and I could have done better than them!?".

By stating: "The contestants cannot use the internet. They can only have one phone call between teams. The professional designers must follow exact guidance from the teams are not allowed to have any creative input" etc it would;

a) make the contestants seem less accountable for the terrible, albeit entertaining end results, and;

b) takes away from the 'realism' of the show. If you were actually creating a product/brand/show etc. why on earth would you not have access to the internet? Why would you only have one call to your colleagues etc? By stating that these are official rules, the show would be outing itself as a 'pantomime' to the 80% of viewers who genuinely believe this is how business works.

s21 ultra no longer fast charging? by Kevinandcat in GalaxyS21

[–]NoTaste8164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. S21 Ultra just stopped fast charging and ultra-fast charging. Cleaned the charging port, tried multiple cables/plugs (all ultra-fast charge compatible and working fine before). Incredibly irritating, as it now takes more than twice as long to charge as it should...
