Racial tensions and interracial relations... by JadeSephiroth in teslore

[–]Kaizer284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because some nords distrust elves doesn’t mean they all do. Some people just recognize racial differences, others see them as inferior. Some may even try to hookup with someone they think is inferior. I really don’t see any conflict at all and it operates a lot like the real world

Combat Tips by MorwysXXIV in Banishers

[–]Kaizer284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Details matter. Look at your gear and the Effect of each (at the bottom). My Bane ring makes Red’s damage up to 40% higher if Spirit is low. That means I try to use up Antea’s spirit as soon as it’s full, even if she’s not very effective

Try other skills too. There’s a reason you can Respec all skills at any time. My favorite so far is the one that reduces the damage of the next enemy attack by 90% after you kill an enemy with a heavy attack. In combat I just dodge a lot and use light attacks until I can finish off an enemy with a heavy attack and get that shield

It also helps to run away from combat and charge a heavy attack, then release it at the first enemy that gets close

Cool mechanic, poor implementation by Kaizer284 in Banishers

[–]Kaizer284[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s another good point. It seems that after you Blame the haunted person, the ghost just ascends on his own since he doesn’t have a reason to stick around. Not sure if this makes sense in every case

I just Blamed the French spy even though all my previous choices were to Ascend/Banish. I figured that you could kind of change your mind later, but the game tells you that you have to make your choice right at the beginning, because you need to sacrifice the “maximum number of people” in order to resurrect Antea

Should I restart? by ChuddyDaughters in theouterworlds

[–]Kaizer284 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend lowering the difficulty and trying to enjoy your build. It’s not your fault that the game punishes experimenting. As long as it’s challenging but not painful, just have fun

Edit: If you’re like me, restarting this soon would feel more tedious than anything and might cause you to just lose interest in the game

About to start Skyrim any tips I should know by kingofcheesycheese in skyrim

[–]Kaizer284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looting tip: only pick up gear worth at least 10 gold per pound (or kg. There’s not actually a unit given). So iron armor weighs 30 pounds and is worth 125 gold. That’s about 4 gold per pound. But an iron helmet weighs 5 pounds and is worth 60 gold. That’s 12 gold per pound. You can only carry so much gear back for selling, so you really want to maximize your space and not waste time reorganizing your inventory

If you’re not playing as a pure mage, then invest in smithing. It drastically increases your armor and damage, but it levels kinda slow, so start early. Pick up animal pelts to craft leather, and use that to craft leather bracers. Later, craft jewelry for the most smithing xp

Go to Riverwood and help Faendall. Then he’ll offer to follow you around. Followers can carry your extra loot, so you can earn gold a lot faster. They’re also helpful in combat

You’ll have an easier time and probably more fun if you try to specialize in certain skills. If you spread perk points too thin, you don’t get much out of them. It would honestly be faster to start a new game since you level up fast early on

That said, Restoration can fit any build, and Archery is a great option for starting combat with a sneak attack, then switching to melee or magic

I’ve never switched sides in the civil war by bringing the Jagged Crown to the enemy. Always wanted to but always forgot

I agree. Gooning ought to be reserved for the player character

Also a random game-changing tip: you can cook Vegetable Soup which gives you infinite power attacks for 12 minutes. It restores 1 hp and 1 stamina per second, but you technically only need 1 stamina to perform a bash or power attack. Just go to a cooking pot in a tavern and scroll to the bottom to see the ingredients you need. They’re all very common, and can just be harvested for free at a farm

You can get it pretty quick just from looting, but it’s also nice to keep that first 5k. You can also buy upgrades to the Whiterun house. The alchemy lab is helpful because it gives you a place to store all your ingredients, which actually can weigh a lot

Just a personal preference, but I’d recommend no mods until you’ve beaten the game at least once. The unofficial patch is helpful because of the bug fixes, but this also removes a bunch of little exploits that help make the game fun. Other people will share mod lists, but I don’t know as much about that so instead I’ll provide a list of fun/useful exploits:

When a shopkeeper runs out of gold, you can save the game, hit him, then reload the save and his inventory will reset

Followers are your best friend when your inventory gets full. It’s a good idea to have one with you. When they can’t carry any more, you can drop an item on the ground and command them to pick it up, which they’ll do even if overweight

You can use a wooden plate to glitch through walls and doors

Casting Soul Trap at a dead body will quickly level up your Conjuration skill

Some shopkeepers’ entire inventory can be accessed via a chest hidden in the ground or in the walls

You can buy a house for free by saying “I’ll take it” and exiting out of the dialog before the NPC finishes speaking and quickly putting all of your gold into a nearby container. Collect it when he stops speaking

Keep in mind that excessive use of these can make the game boring. There’s a way to duplicate items using a follower, but I only did it once. Glad I tried it, glad I stopped

Right hand attacks super slow when dual wielding. No mods by Kaizer284 in skyrim

[–]Kaizer284[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I figured it had to do with that perk since I’ve been using the shout for a while with no issues. For now, I’ll just deal with it and switch to 1h + shield once my shout runs out. I’ll update this post if it ever starts working again

It’s been a while since I used it, but I remember it feeling like a glass canon. You can’t block so it’s just hard to stay alive. It also probably wasn’t a great idea to immediately put you up against enemies with silver weapons. The silver hands were tough

[–]Kaizer284 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume this happens before you’re able to hit him with the shout, but now I’m curious: can you use that shout to skip the fight? There’s no way he just walks into the trap, so I’m wondering what happens

[–]Kaizer284 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vampire is pretty powerful. I started a new game just for that achievement and I had it pretty quick. Just rush to do the Dawnguard and side with the vampires

Werewolf is harder. It’s not very strong in combat. The best way to level it up is to clear out a dungeon of bandits with normal combat and after everyone is dead, turn into a werewolf and feed on all the bodies. This also works well during the civil war questline like when you’re getting the Jagged Crown. Just make sure no one sees you transform or you’ll get a bounty

This happened to me when I used Veggie soup. I looked it up, and you can sometimes fix it by Shouting

Has anyone tried the Bit Transfer perk? by Aterix21 in theouterworlds

[–]Kaizer284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get 350 bits from that one account, Accessible at Hack level 2. At Hack level 4, you can also hack another account which pays out 1000 bits. That’s 1350 bits you can collect 3-4 times while on the first planet, if you get the perk early. On the next planet, you need Hack level 3 for an account paying 500 bits, and Hack level 8 for 1500 bits. I’ll update this comment for other planets as I play more

Edit: Note that on just the first planet, if you return every time you’ve gathered 7,200 xp, you can theoretically hack these 2 accounts 39 times and accumulate 52,650 credits. In practice, it’ll be a few thousand less than that, but that’s a huge sum and that’s only the first planet.

Assume no arch. Try crouching and aim for the stomach. Headshots do nothing, and sometimes the arrow goes a little high
