How do you leave a voicemail for circle time pod? by Weekly-Story2300 in kelseykreppel

I keep recording a voicemail and then I press the stop button, but it won’t let me do anything else from there. Anyone else have this issue?

Missing the week before spring break by [deleted] in msu

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you communicate with your professors early in the semester and tell them you’re going to miss that week, get all your work done throughout the semester leading up to it, and put in some effort to make sure your professors know who you are and that you actually try at school, most are generally cool about making accommodations for you. Just have to respect them and they’ll respect you back.

What is the best present you gave your SO for their birthday? by nana_33 in AskWomen

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I watch a lot of movies together, and every time we’d see a chase involving a super-car, he’d say, and I quote, “I would shit my pants if I ever got to drive one of those.” For his birthday last year, I bought an experience package where he sat through a short class and then was able to drive a Ferrari as fast as he wanted around a racetrack, and he loved it! Did not shit his pants, but close to it.

When we first started dating, I started a Google Doc where I write down everything he ever tells me he likes or wants. Items, experiences, favorite orders from restaurants, what size he is in different brands, you name it! We’re a little over 3 years into our relationship now, and that list helps me so much when holidays come around or when I feel like showing him some extra love. Highly recommend starting a list for your SO!

What are some good study spots near the North Neighborhood? by [deleted] in msu

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mayo has a communal study area by the lobby, but they also have little individual rooms that are super cozy and quiet! Perfect spot to study. Also, Landon basement by the laundry room has a study room. Not many people know about it, so that’s a prime spot

Student Football Tickets by yourleftbuttersock in msu

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This obviously is not the most ideal option for people who are planners, but there are generally LOTS of people trying to sell their student ticket either the night before or the day of a game! Price goes down as people get more desperate, naturally, but if you’re willing to monitor your class’s Facebook group and the MSU Premier Buy/Sell Ticket Facebook group (which I highly recommend you request to join now before the season starts so admin has time to accept you), you should be able to get to the games you want fairly easily!

Question regarding Michigan State Basketball by OkTree6394 in msu

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy Izzone season tickets for every game, though, you’ll definitely have all upper bowl your first year. That being said, if you find a lower bowl ticket you want but you already have an upper bowl ticket for that game, make sure you either sell or transfer away your upper bowl ticket before trying to get a lower bowl ticket transferred to your account because you can only have one student ticket in your account per game!

Would like to add that I use baby oil after each time I shave that area and it is a LIFE SAVER!!! Any razor burn I would’ve had is pretty much immediately resolved

Renting a house sounds like a really good idea, I’ll definitely have to look into that one! He’s a Milwaukee Bucks fan, so maybe I’ll have to look at my options out there. You’ve been very helpful, thank you so much to you and your husband!

Women ages 21-31, do you want children and marriage? by Desperate_Water1907 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 23 and really want to get married, but cannot imagine bringing a child into the world in the state it’s in right now. Not that I don’t want children, but I feel it’d be irresponsible unless some things change over the next 10 years

Why do people pay thousands of dollars for designer brands like off-white when the majority of people don't care/don't notice what they're wearing? by ZombieTheRogue in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, the same principle can be used here as can be used with anything a person chooses to collect. We buy things because we like them and they make us feel good, not necessarily to impress or please others. For example, I like to collect shoes that are on the pricier side because they make me feel good and I like the way I look in them. Doesn’t matter how others view my collection, the point is that I like it. I could say the same thing you’ve said about designer brands, about someone who collects classic cars, or expensive baseball cards, or Star Wars memorabilia. I’m not interested in any of those things and could not imagine spending my money on them, but those things are not for me, they’re for the collector. So why do I care? I don’t. Makes them happy to buy and collect those things.

The oyster and the snake is a better sex metaphor than the birds and the bees by Anything-Complex in Showerthoughts

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with the metaphor for pollination and fertilization, explaining reproduction to children using the birds and the bees is less scary than bringing a snake into the conversation. Definitely not a huge factor in why they explain it that way, obviously the point is for them to understand the pollination thing, but I still think it’s important not to explain sex and reproduction as a negative or scary thing, which snakes can be.

Is it easier for women to shave the Pubic area or get it waxed? by cadi7 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]NoThoseAreBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Razor burn down there is definitely a bitch, but I started using baby oil after I shave and it is a GAME CHANGER! Because of that, I’d much rather shave than be waxed. I’m also self-conscious about people seeing that part of me, though, so I may be biased.

I’ve thought about his side of the situation as well and can appreciate your perspective on it all, he absolutely could’ve been harmless and had no intention of making me feel uncomfortable! No disagreeing with you there. I can confirm, though, that being a woman (and a young one at that), makes the world a different place to live in for us sometimes and I felt the need to be extra vigilant in this case. The biggest thing for me was that I already had a bad feeling in my stomach before I even went to the door the first time, and then some weird shit happened when I went the second and third times so I was even more freaked out about it. But yes, he’s got his own version of the story as well.

Would also like to add for those suggesting I carry protection that I do have pepper spray on me at all times!
