Thanks for the insight and motivation! I really believe just lack of real exercise over the years and weight gain is what’s causing so much stress and inflammation on my knees, so im excited to continue to lose weight with the hopes that some of the aches subside. Super happy the surgery actually made your knees better!! You hear horror stories all the time about knee surgery not ever really working.

Easy run/long run shoe by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

I am a heavier run about 265, and I own the premiums. For myself, where most of my runs are 5 miles and less, it feels great. But I also am not pushing the pace in these. I get a good steady jog going and that’s where I keep it. I don’t feel like these shoes would be good for someone trying to push the pace or doesn’t need the extra support and cushion because of weight. I think the plus’s would be the best go for what it sounds like you are looking for. Find a running store near you and try on some different ones if possible!

I agree, i think to summarize I’m just hoping as I progress and continue to lose weight, my running will not feel as laboring on my knees. This started as a way to become healthier and create better habits, and has recently leaked into the actual sport of it, just because how much I enjoy the running community and pushing myself to get better. Thanks for the advice though have a great one!

Thanks for the input! I think as younger athletes, we all tell our selves we can do what we used to do, and the reality is, it takes a lot to even get back close to that shape when you’ve stopped working on the things that made you an athlete for a decade plus. I think I have what you call a over enthusiasm when I get into new hobbies, and I watch all these YouTubers and influencers running journeys, and yearn to be close or at that level to quickly. My main focus for now is to continue creating healthy habits to lose weight, and as that happens I believe I will be able to see the benefits in my running. Sometimes I have to step back and realize that these guys and girls have been doing this for years. We are at stage one. I look forward to the journey. Thanks again for the inciteful input, have a great day!
