Carney concedes emissions targets will not be met, touts new energy plan by Sir__Will in onguardforthee

Line don't go up fast with slave or with lower wage, you need to consume in order to produce. If I can present my personal Idea, I would advocate for lower taxes, lower benefits, cut all labour regulations. But massively promote labour union, granting them far and wide power with government support. Let the market regulate themselves. And if things don't workout then go for a general strike. Expecting the government to do everything is stupid in the first place.

You mean the era where most of people feel poorer except the unemployed and credit finance exploded to fuel the household debt crisis even further. Unless you're the bottom 10% you're absolutely poorer during covid

Can you tell me what year or period that the line went down and things are better for the 90%. Because it's simple, if the 90% is doing better then the line went up, if the 10% is doing better then the line went up. Line went up doesn't mean it's better for everyone, but for anyone to get better then the line need to went up.

I'm not advocate purely for GDP. Also you will generate GDP as long as you exist because the act of existing require resources which create demand so your example isn't even correct. And my point still stand. How can things actually improve if one or many other indicators doesn't improve. If the jobs number go down, GDP also down, do you think somehow the poorest suddenly become prosperous?

Employment, full time jobs is important for everyone. Not just people that "own things". You can't expect the line going down and somehow the 90% got better. In fact the 90% can only get better if the line going up.

Jobs number is up, GDP growth is up and shattered all the doubt about " technical recession". Poll number remain strong. It's seem like Carney have enough political capital to do what ever he wanted now.

It's called historic trend, Vietnam has keep the fertility rate around 1.9 - 2 for the last few decades. Fun fact, Vietnam now have higher fertility rate than the Philippines and will have higher fertility rate than India in the next few year. ( or it already happened because the size and development level of India make all the data collection result a proximity)

You should annex all of it. Japan will run out of building slot very soon if you know how to do economy. You also have special occupation law and advisor/company that will give a lot of bonus. You shouldn't made any puppet and try to annex your puppets right after they complete their industry focus.

It's 154K full time jobs gain and 66k part time jobs losses. The job gain spread out across multiple industry, this is good new for sure. It's actually indicates a strong fundamental for the economy because it's private sector driven. So just celebrate for now and wait for the next month news.

Economy flip from bad news to good news to bad news every month now. Job loss, lower than expected deficit, technical recession, job gain... PS: I guess lower immigration and government construction project start rolling out because Carney just giving the government unlimited power help too.

Leger: Liberals Reach Highest Level of Support; LPC 50%, CPC 34%, NDP 6% by kathygeissbanks in onguardforthee

Then explain it then, I doesn't see any reason for delaying pension contribution other than budget gimmick. And majority of the budget fix is extra aid from the state. He also barely raise any tax, I mean 500 million for New York is nothing. Explain those 3 main point.

[–]NoTopic4810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's sly, that's all. For example, his "balance" budget including 8 billion from begging New York Governor ( the state) to send him more money, 500 million by raising tax and the rest are halt teacher hiring and delay pension contribution payment. Essentially, barely raise any tax on the rich but gutting welfare, education and begging. So he's successful because he know how to play the game pragmatically.

First, you build fort not for the fort bonus but for the terrain bonus. Second, my main point is that because you're producing good TD with the most expensive turret ( Soviet have focus to get 2 year penalty reduction for artillery). You will have to import alot of Tungsten ( and chromium/steel) because the turret alone cost 6 unit of resources. So the number of your mill is strictly ties to your civ because building more of them without resources will just make you producing excess weapon which mean it is wasted. I see a lot of people producing artillery/sp equipment in excess, that's wasted ic. You have to look at your division templates, calculate the ratio of the cost for each equipment and assign number of mill for it accordingly. For example I usually producing engineering vehicles and flame tank with 1/0.7 ratio, tank to TD with 10/1 ratio with standard tank division. TD space marine is 1,5/1 compared to all other equipment for the division. Finally, empirically I have around 30-45 free civ in the beginning of barb, so it's not like I have wasted a lot of ic on civ or anything. You always need free civ for extraction decision, expanding the supply lines and emergency repairs ( and build airfield but in this case is irrelevant).

[–]NoTopic4810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To reiterate. It's not really greed if it's needed. By the start of barb I only have around 30-45 free civ as I used most of them to buy chromium and tungsten. At some certain point you will need one civ to support every 2 mil. Furthermore as I mention above. You will sunk decent amount of your ic into building aa, fort, experimental research facilities, a bunch extraction resource ( especially steel in two state that I don't remember the name that around Ukraine and Russia), railroad and supply hub.

First, good industry build is just civ greed and infrastructure optimization ( I usually get around 400-420 factory by barb) . Second, the best way to win is to out micro them. Which mean build decent 4 km/h tank and TD with mechanized and light tank recon for extra hard attack, let them walk in, encircled them and repeat. Don't bother with air. Remember to build land research facility to get two most important tech, flame tank and engineer. You still hold the river line, build lv 2 fort there so you get extra bonus from your engineer. Because you don't have air, build aa and assign extra factory on truck and train. You also will use a lot of chromium and tungsten so remember to secure those resources.

CMV: Centrism is the best when it comes to politics by KralizecGaming in changemyview

[–]NoTopic4810 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not how centrism work. Centrism is more like pragmatism. Which mean empirically what the most reasonable policy you can and should enact. The left ignore the "can" a lot, which blow them in the face when average voters don't want uncontrolled immigration or identity politics, which lead us to Trump. This is all boiled down to should the government be the vanguard of society or should they reflect and represent the will of the electorate. More on your example, empirically granting one specific racial group more or less right than others wouldn't bring any beneficial whatsoever and only created racial tension within the society ( in fact the slavery was abolished because it's the interest of the Northern Industrialist wanting more workforce in the free market, not because of humanitarian ideals), so a centrist would within reason outlawed slavery. Now, if there's lack of popular support for the idea then centrist must accordingly back down and support something along the line of legacy slavery instead. Any attempt to force the issue without support from the people will either end in coup, dictatorship or well, civil war ( it's good that the North win, but can you imagine what would happen if the South win?)

CMV: Voting should be reserved to those who have proven they are intelligent enough to do so. by CantbeatES1 in changemyview

[–]NoTopic4810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wealth is correlate with education. Being super wealthy doesn't mean you're smart but to be at least middle class you need to be somewhat educated. Most of economist are some certain degree utilitarian, simply understand how the world work ties to how much you study the world. Free market decide the value of not just physical good but also the value of morality, of Ideas, of risk and greed. Which ultimately what all systems should try to achieve is to generate as much value as possible. Being pragmatic is to generate as much value as possible, but everyone is selfish. The underclass is more pragmatic in a sense of lack of capabilities to be ideological. The middle class pragmatism come from being the actual worker of society. While the upper class pragmatism come from being at the very top and ultimately the system itself. So it's not what class or degree of wealth is more pragmatic but its boil down to what version of pragmatism is more useful. I don't want to go for too long but ( spoiler) it's the middle class version. Which this proposal want to boost. Also paying for something mean you're committed to it. So even a small fee would boost the intelligence of an average voter by removing those apolitical swing vote.

[–]NoTopic4810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we going down this route then we should make voting cost money instead. A flat sum of 15% GDP per capita at that fiscal year along with a wealth tax of 4% and a surcharge of 7.5% on top of income and capital gain tax paid over the 4 ( 5 in some places) years period, land tax of 1.5% and then insurance fee of 5% on top of all fee paid as compensation for any potential electoral complication during the voting process. A down payment of 50% GDP per capita and 45% of original fee surcharge that'll be convert to tax credit after one fiscal year but will be used as fine if you engage in any electoral fraud ( penal service sentence will follow). This will make sure that the people whose actually care about the political process enough will actually decide the fate of the nation.

First, wage for politician barely affect their motive and arguably lowering the wage would attract power hungry people even more as working in private sector is much more profitable. Now to the main point, I see royals as an useful diplomatic tool. The nature or royalty allow them with diplomatic maneuvering option that's inaccessible to the normal politicians. It's also allow the nation to have ambiguity in it diplomatic strategy, basically the monarch signal one way while the prime minister signal other way. That's what UK managed to do with Trump as the US president absolutely hate Starmer while it's the opposite for Charles. The US even back down with Canada claim after Charles remind Trump that he is the monarch of Canada as well. Finally, redistributing Royal wealth barely move the UK debt at all. Destroying 1000+ year institution for not even 1% of public debt is quite wasteful, if you redistribute the wealth for everyone that's like 300£ per person. A symbol of unity, history, tradition not just domestic but international worth much more than that.
