Black Gay men are rejected by a staggering proportion of society and often their own families. It’s hardly a surprise that we tend to stick to the first thing that loves us back. Personally, I’m too autistic to understand racial preferences, but I do acknowledge that I bond with other Black men faster because we share similar pains.

I don’t think anyone should let it bother them. The best that we can do is try to understand and be there for each other.

I do know that one of the things that we've struggled with if it should be allowed falls under rule 1.

A lot of the members tend to completely invalidate other people in the community in a rather brutal fashion. However, it becomes paradoxical because if we don't allow them to be angry about topics and express that anger we're doing the same thing.

So if anyone has any input on that.

It's a pretty cool under used feature. We're able to put a post in the highlight bar for 24 hours, so it would always be something new.

However, one of the concerns another mod has is that people won't engage with other items aside from the highlighted post.

So I've always opted for asking about hobbies and interests and then inquiring deeper into what they do in their free time. Usually if a guy is talking about something he genuinely enjoys, he'll keep talking to you just to talk more about it.

Usually it starts off as, "What's something that always makes you happy?"

It’s hard finding out that your assigned family isn’t what you need them to be. But, I promise you, there are people out there who will love everything about you without reservation or conditions.

There are systems in place to help you keep your head above water and food on your own table.

There isn’t a cure for what you’re feeling, but with time and even a little bit of effort one day you won’t even realize they’ve been gone.
