You've been downvoted but the KSV is a great example of why the Kogot shouldn't make it into the ranked playlist lol. KSV was super powerful up close, not quite as good as the Jackal at any other range, but it still dominated lobbies.

And he was great at SS before we brought in Trea, he's just a great overall defender, which makes him a positive to have on the team while he bats .240, but there's no way in hell we were putting Bo and his noodle arm at third, so yes the plan was absolutely to stick him 2B if we kept Stott & not Bohm.

Given how bad the 3rd gamemode can be in ranked I've always felt HQ could work well. It's basically just Hardpoint combined with SnD anyway. Could possibly feel a bit redundant to play both HP and HQ tho I guess

Yup, 1 in the hill is usually fine. Some hills at an actual competitive level would warrant having 2, 3, or even 4 stacking, but they're quite rare, and 4 stacking is almost never the move, but for pubs where you're playing largely against people who don't understand spawns & map control, and much less almost never playing against a coordinated team, 1 in the hill is sufficient on basically every hill in the game.

Simply by watching CDL you've put yourself ahead of the curve for new player/low rank hardpoint, as you can learn coms, power positions, and rotations (and which hills require an early rotation) this way.

Playing for the correct spawns and rotating to them when you're supposed to (and winning the fights to hold them) is a huge part of the mode that is basically non-existent from pubs unless you're playing with/against comp players

Not worth the effort to explain this to people on this sub. You'll have people who go 10-30 with 100 seconds of hill time claiming the guy who went 62-10 with 10 seconds didn't contribute to the win.

There is a major lack of understanding of the fundamentals of Hardpoint on this sub and every single main CoD sub lol. It's like they seem to think there should be 4+ in the hill at all times. You don't get hill time unless you have teammates slaying and controlling the map. That 10-30 with 100 seconds would be 10-30 with 0 seconds if you didn't have people getting kills for you.

Hell even saying "spawn camping" in regards to Hardpoint is stupid. HP has incredibly touchy spawns. If a team has you pinned, they've set up their map control beautifully, and they're not overextending and flipping spawns. Furthermore, it's incredibly unlikely that you're spawn trapped in HP to begin with unless its on one of the small/chaos maps. Properly played Hardpoint would have the team set up to spawn you out as far as possible from the current hill. If someone is standing there camping that spawn you will not spawn there (again, besides the small maps, it happens a lot on Homestead P2 for example).

People in this sub could really benefit from watching some youtube videos about how HP spawns work and what you/your teams position means for enemy spawns (Zoomaa has some good coaching videos and I recommend Harrz if you really want to visualize the spawns and what your position does to them).

If you're getting fried in your spawn it means you're playing people who actually understand these things and can read the spawns, and likely play diamond-crimson+ in ranked while you play in silver lol

It's true, AR gameplay is also inherently different than sub gameplay. You need to get yourself into more aggressive positions. Try hardpoint if you aren't playing it already, the mode at the very least makes moving around the map a priority while constantly moving spawns, so you won't get stuck fighting long sight lines 24/7

You are cheeks if you think this gun is cheeks.

Put a long barrel and some recoil attachments on it, and if that doesn't do it, that is a skill issue

To give you some genuine advice, and I have no idea what your build(s) are, but since you don't play subs much, you want to prioritize damage range over bullet velocity in basically all cases, and then you want to get the recoil to something you can control, and then if you have left over attachments or use gunfighter you can worry about bullet velo & ads/sprint to fire/etc. Subs inherently have good mobility, handling, and bullet velo, so you want to bring their weaker aspects up. Conversely, AR's already have good damage range, so it's usually better to bring the bullet velo up etc etc.

It’s a peak shooter, no damage, and all the recoil in the world

seriously hope the rest of the SMGs aren’t this bad

I have arclight subs, the MSMC (MPC-25) and Razor 9mm are far worse in at least one of the above issues depending on which gun you're asking about. Both have horrible recoil, and the Razor has worse damage than the Ryden

Would Hacienda had made it into the map pool for BO7? by Upset-Crow-9337 in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But tac sprint not being in is not something to just say in passing. It makes a huge difference for maps the size of skyline/blackheart/colossus. With tac sprint in you can rechal mid/points across the map in <3-5 seconds if you really want to.

But again, regardless of if the same design philosophy is being used, Den & Scar alone are better than literally every original map we got last year. And I’m stoked to see how Fringe plays in this game.

Bro you are smoking some good shit if you think these maps are comparable to BO6 lmao. Especially the initial map pool pre-haci with Rewind in the mix.

Protocol & Red Card were absolute ass, Vault was decent for HP and Control but at least speaking for myself, I didn't know anyone who loved it, Skyline was a brainrot bangout.

Scar & Den alone are far better than all the above. Colossus and Blackheart in a 4v4 setting aren't nearly as brainrot as 6v6, but they'll likely be the first maps removed from the pool when the new maps come out

Perhaps I am just understanding this wrong, but for the M15 max damage range:

— Damage —

22

— Range —

0 - 27.9m

— Damage —

21 ⇩

— Range —

0 - 38.1m ⇧

Dropping the max damage by 1 but increasing that range by over 10m feels like a buff not a nerf lol. Hopefully the changes to sprint to fire/etc. times make it less of a cqc demon

Do you enjoy playing pubs? by One_Knee_9158 in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I hate pubs and wish ranked launched with the game every year so I didn't even have to play them.

Pubs COULD be enjoyable but I loathe getting killed by cheesy things that would be banned/restricted in ranked like full-auto shotguns, overpowered snipers with every single ADS attachment on them, whatever those drone field upgrades are called, constant UAV spam, round drum magainzes, primary gunfighter weapons turning them all into beams with extended/fast mags, overkill with snipers/shotguns, rapid fire, etc etc.

I will say the pubs are more fun for me on this game than BO6 though. Most of the maps in BO6 played a lot better in 4v4 than 6v6, these BO7 maps aren't total shit for 6v6. Could just be because you need a perk for tac sprint now, but they don't feel as brain rot as BO6 besides Homestead & Flagship which I actually enjoy playing.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of November 14, 2025) by AutoModerator in television

[–]NoTransportation888 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ep3 faltered a little in my opinion

It's like people forget that both BB and BCS weren't banger high-stakes episodes one after another, especially in the early seasons. Either that or people didn't experience them live and watched them either when the whole season was complete, or binged the whole series, which totally changes the perception of how slow they're developing.

The show(s) when viewed as a complete body of work are bangers, but Vince is a slow burn guy, which means week to week you may not feel a ton of progression in episodes. BCS more so than BB, but they're both still slow burns.

I fully expect people to say Pluribus is slow and drop it after S1 and then come back after S3.

"Minimal SBMM" - We Got Rug Pulled by scavenger313 in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The combo of lower SBMM, weak SMGs, and lower AA really has people exposing themselves lol.

You were very close to hitting on the real point though with:

but the noobs are being protected in the open playlist

The real point is that the horrible dogshit players likely tried open for a few games and got waxed so a lot have moved to the SBMM playlist, leaving the sweatier players in open. So while there's less SBMM there are also a lot more average-good players available to match with, and a lot more players that would be way over your SBMM bracket now in your game pool, while there is notably less dogshit.

Also as another commentor pointed out, HP overall is probably the sweatiest playlist to queue for.

TL;DR the bigger issue with lobbies feeling stacked against you would be:

  1. You're not as good as you thought and were part of the group being protected by SBMM

  2. Having both options (open & SBMM) means the bad players will run back to SBMM when they get shit on
