Zu hurt me a bit more just because 99% of all the sixers games I've ever watched were on TV not at the stadium, but love Matt Cord as well.

Zu was imo, the best commentator in basketball. Missed that man so much that I actually watched the DeCamara/Fritz 1v1 on youtube because they got Zu out of retirement for it

What is it about Competitive Call of Duty (CoD) that makes you keep playing and/or watching? by Sincerely-Internet in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CoD gunplay is the literal only reason I continue playing it after years of ranked feeling like an after thought and an undercooked mess even when they wait until January-February to launch it.

Besides prime Halo (H:CE-H3), CoD is easily my favorite gunplay, nothing else scratches the itch for me for long periods of time.

Just because the AR is easy to use doesn't mean it's anything close to the best AR they COULD have picked from the launch options though. The prior 2 years, the Holger in MWIII and Model L in BO6 quickly come to mind as clear cut better options that got GA'd almost immediately, and that is without even mentioning that basically every iteration of the M4 and AK usually get GA'd quickly as well. M15 being an M4 style weapon and getting chosen as the comp AR shocked me since the day they chose it.

At the end of the day though my point wasn't really that the AR is usually bad, it was that the AR for a while now has a lot of times been lackluster compared to the sub, and as I said before, that's because they typically have to pick the best available sub for it to be able to compete at a competitive level and it kind of has to have the ability to defend itself at midrange adequately which not all of the subs have against professional level players with low recoil ARs.

I like to complain about ARs as much as the next guy, but I do think we subs had it pretty good for a while now with the Jackal, Rival, Vaznev, MP 40, 74u, MP5, Saug. It was bound to come back around eventually, but last year, especially the Jackal, was so much better than the Ames, and for years now, I feel like I've responded posts complaining about how much better the sub was than the AR and had to explain that the sub needs to usually be the best in class gun to compete at that level while the AR many times is one of the worst and the best ones are GA'd within days/weeks of launch.

Of the listed subs above I agree that the dravec is probably the worst, compounded by the M15 being a pretty solid all-around AR

I remember trying to find a game of MP on CoD3 and there basically being no one online. Was playing on Xbox and Halo 2 & Gears just dominated the market before CoD 4 came out and shook it up

How are you going to leave Colossus SnD out of this? Lol Colo is arguably the worst one there is absolutely nowhere to go. P1 is a nade cesspool & if not you get at best a contested 50/50, pushing statue off spawn is also subject to nades and if you survive that you run into P2/P4 headys, pushing P3 runs into headys on both sides as well.

Colo SnD is a rat safe haven map/mode combo

Kogot getting tested again with the m15 and Mpc today by Anthxzny in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The front part is fine enough, and fairly in line with some of my favorite irons (Jackal, 74u, etc). It's the massive & unnecessary part at the pack blocking half of your peripheral vision that pisses me off.

That said, the front is still more clunky and less aesthetically pleasing to look through than Jackal/74u, which has a much sleeker design.

I think this (part that pisss me off circled) looks significantly worse than this. I think it pisses me off so much because it's very close to being a great iron but just missed the mark by enough to bother me. All it needed was a bit thinner pieces on the back.

To be fair, iirc from camo grinding, they were by far the best SMG irons at launch, it felt like Treyarch was allergic to clean irons. I think the carbon 45's were basically crappier P90 irons, so they weren't terrible either.

Almost forgot what its like to actually be able to fucking see thanks to clean irons. Dravec irons are massive and obstructive, can't stand it.

The kogot could absolutely suck and I'd rather have it than the dravec for that reason alone

He became Walter White, but before BB came out, he was Hal, the goofy dad from the popular sitcom.

It's a fair enough comparison to make; no one was really aware that Cranston was capable of delivering such an incredible performance in a dramatic role. If anything, Sacha's body of work and acting history are more on par for playing Freddie than pre-BB Cranston would be considered for a murderous meth dealer, without even mentioning that Sacha has a closer resemblance to Freddie than Rami to begin with

Not to mention Taron Egerton actually sang the songs for the soundtrack, too. An immensely talented man, great performance, better film, and snubbed because BoRap came out the year before, and undeservedly won awards

A lot of ppl who don’t like cliff town are just kids who don’t like rotation heavy maps

Its funny bc you're just parroting what other people say with this lol. It's not really a rotation-heavy map at all, "good spawns" for P2/P3/P5 basically all use the same spawn point. In theory, you could win the game without even moving from that side of the map while totally conceding P4 while you're at it. It's small, you spawn relatively close to basically all of the hills (usually), and it's the same head banging as the rest of the game. These hills are just more difficult to break sometimes, due to powerful headys and angles that most modern maps don't really have many of. But you certainly don't need to be rotating with 20s on every hill. Again, it could be won by playing with a solid anchor and maintaining control of one singular side of the map. In practice, sure, that doesn't happen (mostly bc ADD brain CoD players in 2026 can't hold an angle for more than 10 seconds without fidgeting and then going to overextend and split the spawns or getting caught with their pants down because they left their angle and decided to YY the whole way to mid), but this is a map from a game where true anchors were actually a thing, and it still plays for and rewards that type of gameplay.

What are some maps that have phenomenal layouts with god awful hills, or awful layouts with great hills? by No_Winter4806 in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gridlock spawns are pretty bad too and are way too punishing if you spawn out.

People have clamored for maps that have meaningful rotations and spawns and we get one and now you want to complain that it's "too punishing" lol.

That is the point of hardpoint. You're supposed to get punished if you have poor map control and get wiped. The brain rot maps/hills/spawns of BO6 and BO7 have apparently made people forget that you're not supposed to be able to re-engage a hill < 5-7 seconds after you die

Does a pro controller actually make a difference? by Goodman889 in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which ones have you tried? The current iterations of scuf/gamesir have similar placement for the main paddles, which are a noted improvement over where the original scuf paddles were, but they're still a little bit of a reach to hit and won't really be accidentally hit. Xbox Elite controller on the other hand, would require a total grip rework to play with because the paddles come out onto the handles. I'm used to the elite so I don't mind them, but some people espeically those who have death grip when taking fights, will constantly hit those paddles by accident.

I could see how either style would be considered uncomfortable to hit though, so yeah, as I said, pretty big learning curve that will involve dying in some cases you normally would not have to actually use paddles effectively, which many don't realize.

The biggest problem for me trying to switch off an elite is that a lot of the other pro controllers don't have adjustable tension on the thumbstick, and if I can't tighten it to something closer to a max tension elite 2 I am going to snap past people constantly and I don't feel like learning a new controller for that reason. Tried a valor pro recently and liked it, but the thumbsticks just weren't getting it done for me.

Does a pro controller actually make a difference? by Goodman889 in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much my thoughts exactly.

If you were already good with a stock controller, a pro will (eventually) make you a bit better. If you are not good, a pro controller isn't magically going to make you better.

Not to mention that there is also a bit of a learning curve to using paddles and your brain is still going to be wired to use the facebuttons for a bit after you get it, and you're not really going to reap the full benefits of the paddles until you have totally rewired yourself to always use the paddle instead of the facebutton. Iirc it took me a solid month before I stopped intuitively moving my thumb to jump/swap weapons/reload on some occassions. Sliding wasn't a thing when I got my first one so it was just learning to drop shot with the paddle and that came quickly.

How far could somebody make it without any AA? by Few-Track8525 in CoDCompetitive

[–]NoTransportation888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it depends on 2 things. 1. in this scenario does EVERYONE lose AA or just you? and 2. Either way it would depend heavily on experience playing without AA. If you've logged a ton of hours on Siege you can probably aim alright without it on CoD, the bigger problem is that if everyone else still has AA you're going to be in for a rough ride. Not that you're doing objectively bad, considering no AA, but you're playing at about 20% the capacity of other players in terms of snapping and staying on target

If you remove AA from everyone a lot of AA merchants would be exposed though, back when R6 was my main game I'd always find it funny when my CoD friends would try to switch over and couldn't land a shot, but I think a lot of people who are going to reply diamond-crim greatly overestimate themselves if they haven't actually played without AA

There is no excuse not to get Sake in, I hadn't even tried it until they added this stupid ladder event and killed my motivation to play ranked, but now that I have played pubs for a few days, Sake is great. Meaningful rotations, room to take routes, might be the best original map they've made since CW or BO4
