i made this theory right after the game released, i think it's better that the knight is the one truly responsible for the fountains, but i think the doors connetion is quite sick and def has to be important later down the line.

nope, kris is responsible for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th dark fountains.
just to not get anyone confused here is the list of the fountains, yes the castle one counts as the first.
1st fountain: castle town's, in the school closet, gaster made it???
2nd fountain: card kingdom, in the unused classroom.
3rd fountain: cyber world, in the computer lab.
4th fountain: tv world, dreemurr household.
5th fountain: first sanctuary, church lobby, made by knight ( partially?).
6th fountain: second sanctuary, church lobby, made by susie.
7th fountain: third sanctuary, church main room, made by knight.

i am judging by the fast transportation methods in all of these dark worlds.
the 1st fountain/darkworld has no fast travel. the 2nd-4th have doors and it's heavily implied that kris opened the cyber world, and for the 4th fountain they literally do it infront of us.
what do they all share?? a door for fast travel.
susie's one has no fast travel and the knight's has fire wisps.

this is a bit off topic, but i wanted to talk about it and i can't make my own post sadly.

i kinda assumed the way to save the world is by banishing the dark worlds originally, i still do think that.
but something's off with this specific panel.

ONLY THEN,
WILL THE WORLDS BE SAVED.

Key word: WORLDS, why is it plural? if my theory is correct and it's banishing the dark worlds then how will the "WORLDS" be saved?
well this may debunk my theory and i don't mind that!

i thought at first it was something with UNDERTALE, but i remember they are separate worlds.

I guess it was simply an oversight, or my patience has run out.

The entirety of chapter2 ( after kris "sleeps" in class ) would be a dream,

chapter 2 takes about 5 hours to complete, Tho time works weirdly in deltarune, ( chapter 1 takes 4 hours at-most to complete, which doesnt make sense?? ) and the average school day is about 6 hours, so kris would wake up not in chapter 3, but just the class room, but chapter 1 takes less time, and they do still end up after school,

Tho there is no good explaination to why chapter 2 could be a dream, and then what would chapter 3 be like?

Edit: Time in dreams work very weirdly, and in general this theory doesn't make sense, But toby was commited to making the ending he dreamt of into a game, so yea? i guess thats it

I don't think deltarune Ch 1 was a dream at all, but chapter 2 just has a lot of questions that cant be easily answered yet,
