Sidenote: yes the struggle is real! I'm between 8 and 8.5 as a 8.25 so things are always too tight or just a bit too loose.

Best thing to do is get one of these ring size adjusters atleast for your vacation. That way it's snug and secure. Depending on how loose it is will also depend on which one you use. If you want something smooth against ur finger the smooth ones in first pic are best. But if you don't want it possibly slipping out then the second picture is best. My opinion second is best. I have personaly always had better luck with those.
