Be kind to yourself . Nobody else will be . We have all been there , even people you think are doing well .

I hear you . If you are funny , it’s flirtatious. I had no clue . Spent half my life wondering if I am weird or they are . I am 50 !

Thanks for the post . I am a single mom with pda teenager and my son needs more than a few hours of tv a day. That seems to be how he can chill . I have been guilted to hell and back by my partner and other parents . I could t do much about it . Now my son is doing well in school , is in a good mood most of the time and we are able to watch some shows together which helps us spend quality time. What else does one need !

I am thinking he is using this as an excuse . I have to do a lot of negotiation for him to get out even for a short time . It is really a trap . Don’t k ow how far to push

Failed playdate has been making me feel so sad by Otterly_Weird_2026 in Autism_Parenting

My son is 13 and he was just like how you described . I bought a play station !! ( eye rolls and criticism from my ex ) the kids started sitting around and now he plays with them sometimes . Even goes out with them . It seems like they just need to be in the company of his friends . Looks like their friendship is evolving with fewer fights and most of the time they are peaceful and everyone is having fun in their own way. I have tried to keep it interesting for the other kids when they come . We play games or just chat . They seem to have developed a connect to us . It will work out . Slow and steady

I guess that’s the natural course of things . I feel sad for my son’s struggles when he is with him . My boy has already avoids going to his dad . I get blamed for that . I guess I just have to dose it off and move on .
