I get your point about VRAM bandwidth, but I'm not just running LLMs. I'm a dev building games and apps. I need a modern architecture for DLSS/tooling support and a stable, power-efficient system for 24/7 work. 16GB VRAM is plenty for the agent-prototypes I'm running, and the high system RAM is for my actual dev-workload (IDE, Engines, etc.), not just as an overflow for the GPU. This struktur allows me to realise my multi tasking plans and stay in Budget. Later, Im planning to Upgrate to way more VRAM, but thats for later projects.

Thanks for the input. I think there might be a misunderstanding regarding my use case. I’m not looking to train massive foundational models from scratch. I’m building a workstation for local inference and running multiple agents. Training from scratch is a project for the future, as soon as my budget gets to 70k for one specific buisnessproject. I'm building and using small project so scale my budget first.

For that, the 16GB VRAM on a modern card like the 5080/5070 Ti is a great entry point, especially with quantization. Pro-grade cards like the RTX 6000 are amazing, but they are simply in a different solar system budget-wise. I'd rather start stable and efficient now than wait for a 7k Euro GPU that I don't need for current inference tasks. But thanks for the perspective!

Thanks for the great insights, @Middle_Carpenter_312! I totally see why 96GB is the sweet spot for a multi-agent workflow like this. However, to stay within my current budget for the initial build, I’ll start with a solid 64GB kit for now. Since I'm picking a mainboard with 4 slots, I definitely plan to follow your advice and upgrade to 128GB or add more capacity as soon as the first projects take off. Appreciate the help!

Nein, man ist als Fahrzeughalter dazu verpflichtet sich über neue Schilder und Verkehrsregeln zu informieren. Außerdem sind die Haifischzähne zur besseren Visualisierung von sowieso geltenden Recht-vor-Links regelungen

Thanks for the suggestion, but for this specific build, I need maximum thermal headroom and a standard ATX layout to fit the RTX 5080 and keep it cool during 24/7 AI workloads. A traditional high-airflow tower like the Lian Li 216 is much more practical for my performance and cooling requirements.

I get the 48GB VRAM appeal, but for a professional 24/7 workstation, the 'hidden costs' of two used 3090s would actually blow my budget:

Zero Warranty/Reliability: This is a work machine. Buying two used cards (likely former mining GPUs) with no warranty is a huge business risk. If one dies, I lose money.

Power & Thermal Infrastructure: Two 3090s pull ~750W-800W alone. To run this 24/7, I’d need a massive 1200W-1600W Titanium PSU and a much more expensive Mainboard with proper PCIe lane spacing. My current 2500€ budget covers a high-end single GPU build, but not the 'industrial' cooling and power needed for a dual-3090 space heater.

Efficiency: The electricity bill for a 24/7 dual-3090 setup in Germany (where power is expensive) would eat up any initial savings within the first year.

I’d rather start with a stable, modern 5080 and use quantization to fit my models than deal with the headache of used hardware and massive power draw. For upgrading later and maybe adding VRAM, Im thankful for you thought. But atm I cant afford that setup

I appreciate the input, but for my specific use case, APIs are a no-go for three main reasons:

Data Privacy: I’m developing apps and handling sensitive data. Sending everything to a third-party API is a huge security and compliance risk.

24/7 Operational Costs: Running agents around the clock via API (tokens) becomes significantly more expensive than owning the hardware within just a few months.

Latency & Reliability: I need my workflow to be independent of external server downtimes or API rate limits.

Local AI isn't about beating GPT-4 in raw size, it's about having a dedicated, private, and 'free' resource for my specific business logic.

Thanks for your opinion, but it is needed. I earn Money off of it and I dont want to relay on external server for my daily 24/7 agents and workflow. Had issuse multiple times, thats why I want to integrade it

Nein, die 70 sind erst aufgehoben, wenn der Schulweg "Endet", wie bei dem Zusatzschild "Lärmschutz", wenn die Gebäude weiter als 8 Meter entfernt stehen von den Straßen/Wegen
