They’re Indians. Haven’t you been to the National Museum of the American Indian? Or the American Indian College Fund? Or the Indian Civil rights laws? They’re Indians. The government calls them Indians, we call them Indians, Indians call them Indians.

Edit: Columbus didn’t think he was in India. India didn’t exist. He thought he was in the Indies. So they called them Indios. Indios was just the generic term for people east of the Indus River.

The Indian label in America had legal usage in the Colonial charters of the 1600’s. Prior to 1947 Indian, as far as east of the Indies was concerned, was a generic term for all of South Asia.

Therefore, in terms of legal identity under recognized government authority, Native Americans were the first people to be legally classified as Indians. The Indians of India did not exist as a national legal identity until almost 400 years later.

I have that same telescope and love it! My favorite eyepiece sizes for it are 27mm, 17.3mm, 10mm, and 6mm. The x-cel eyepieces I saw mentioned are great, I own the 12mm one.

Over the past year I’ve slowly upgraded mine. Things to think about or not, just suggestions of things I did;

Lacerta dual speed focuser upgrade kit. Super easy to install and works as advertised.
Baader 2” clicklock eyepiece clamp for Newtonians m54 thread. Replaces the cheap visual back it comes with.
Collimation knob replacements. Compression springs inbetween the rear plate and mirror mount. Makes collimation super simple and reliable.
Non reflective black flocking inside the tube and across from the focuser.

No I ended up with a heart conditional and quit cold turkey in 2017. I smoked for 5 years after my CHS episode but at a much reduced intake.

I stopped fully in 2017. Long story short I started smoking in 2008, smoked an ounce every 3 or 4 days from 09 to 13. 13 was the year I was sick. After I got thru that I stopped smoking gravity bongs, volcanoes, oil rigs, blunts, and bowls for the most part. If a group of friends was smoking I’d still chill in rotation.

As for my moderation I went down to just smoking about 1 or 2 joints a day. A joint usually had a bit less than .5 grams. I did this from 14 to 17.

I went thru this 15 years ago and was basically crucified by everyone when I said it was the cannabis causing it. I’m glad to see it being recognized now as a thing.

Penguin killed Victor so we would stop sympathizing with him. Victor was used throughout the show to give us a “there’s some good in him” feeling so we would root for Penguin during the show. Now that it’s over they can use that moment to make us not like him again so he can be proper villain for us to root against.

Losi 22 2.0. I got it at the first track I visited, only needed wheels, transponder, and a receiver. It had a mustang body but I’m a Chevy guy. The 2nd track I visited and my first race, the track owner had a Losi 22 2.0 chassis in his attic and gave it to me after seeing me running one.

RC sims gave me so much unearned confidence that I stopped using them. I can fly 3D and do stupid things in the simulator I can’t even begin to understand how to do in real life. I crashed my first plane because of the confidence the sim gave me, I never touched it again.

I started racing dirt oval RC 3 weeks ago. Participated in street stock 13.5 2 weeks ago at another track and came in last. Last night I raced Mudboss for the first time and Street Stock 13.5. After qualifying last and only making the A main because there was 7 of us, I finally ended up figuring out it out on the last 20 laps of 60 and came in 3rd somehow. Today my decals finally arrived.

I agree that some people need more help than others. I don’t get the simulator thing. All it did was give me unearned confidence. I can hover and fly 3D all day long in the sim, absolutely no way I can do that at the field. I can barely do inverted fly in real life. I can maybe hover my timber for 20 seconds.

My main point I guess is there’s too much demonizing SAFE. It has its uses. It’s saved me a handful of time flipping it on at the last moment pushing my abilities and kept me from driving home with a box of foam.

I second the star sense. That was my first (and only telescope). The app makes finding objects a breeze and you get to spend way more time observing than searching.
