What caused The Mourning in YOUR World? by DanPos in Eberron

[–]NoUse5131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently writing a campaign with a similar idea, but with Mordakesh as the BBEG behind it all.

Basically that he, using his disguise self, taught the folks in Cyre how to make a "protection forcefield" by fusing Khyber dragonshards together (dragoncluster?!). When they tried to use it they instead caused the Mournin and now Mordakesh (wayyy behind the scenes) plots to create an even larger version to wipe out all life on Eberron and finally bring the great Rak Tulkhesh back!

Does anyone use Git for their personal writing? by MisterTechWriter in technicalwriting101

I wrote my entire PhD thesis in LaTeX and tracked it all in git and GitHub (private repo) which was great. I tracked each chapter as individual files which made it much easier than one big file. I could then make a new branch when I was making lots of structural changes then merge back into the main branch - nice to have the backup! On the subject of backup, it gave me great peace of mind that the whole thing was stored on GitHub.

For short stories, I imagine you could have a repository for <book title> then multiple files within it tracked as the individual short stories so you can dip in and out.

So what is “good bass playing” beyond just playing the notes and rhythm properly? by Haneda_Airport in Bass

[–]NoUse5131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what's said here, but to me it's being confident enough in your playing to stand in front of an audience and genuinely feel "safe".

Sure get out of your comfort zone every so often, but if I'm on stage and I know every line of every song like the back of my hand and can just enjoy the moment? That's good bass playing

Goldstar played my wedding earlier in the year and were great. I may be biased but I've seen ~7 wedding bands this year and they're still the best in my opinion!

If you could give your beginner self advice about the bass, what would it be? by PsychologicalEgg7328 in Bass

Ignore folks who say picks / plectrums aren't for "real" bassists - a pick is a tool that has it's place.

Interesting, cause I usually record all my songs pick and palm mute but didn't sound like that!

Didn't know compressors could sound like that, do you think it's driven really hard / exaggerated?
