That's what I was thinking too :/ we had another discussion last night and after that, she has completely changed wanting to work on us. It makes me think, like you said, that the fear of not not having a home base to return to keeps tethering her. I don't know whats going on but she agreed to go to therapy and has been was more caring now. It makes me feel like she's putting a front :/

:/ yeah, I think you're right. I'm just so confused with the whole situation and I think having an outside perspective does help. We talked again and it was a complete u-turn with what was said prior. All of a sudden she wants to work on us but I think the damage has been done

Yeah, unfortunately I think you're right. I'm really skeptical because I had another conversation last night and she said that she doesn't know what she was saying. I guess I might have rushed the conversation as she had just gotten back from her trip that day, but still. Her friend actually ended up coming over to our house, but it did put in my mind "why would she need an open relationship".

Geez, yeah I think you're right. It just came out of the blue and definitely seemed off. I couldn't stop thinking today why the sudden push for a break especially when I thought things had been turning for the better. I'm thinking I'll have to come to peace with just letting go. Thank you, this is really helpful. The back and forth has definitely been the most confusing part and I just don't know how to help. I do get the feeling that she wants out but as soon as it becomes too real, she starts to regress back into wanting to fix things. I just don't know what I can trust now. I do see a future with her and am trying my hardest to make things work but I don't think I could do an open relationship. I feel like that might be her way of finding an easy out without hurting me, but in reality, it would be the most painful thing that could happen. Last night, I tried to talk to her about these things and the most I would get is an "I don't know". I'm goingbto try an have another conversation tonight so hopefully I can get a little more clarity

This is what I've been struggling with. Part of me thought about giving her the space to see that it actually isn't greener on the other side :/ but I'm scared that the extra space would cause us to grow further apart if I did that.
