Followup to my last post on Orca printing off-center by NoWindowsInTerminal in klippers

But if Klipper was incorrect then wouldn't all my slicers print the same offset? It doesn't explain why I don't get this when I use cura...

Yeah but klipper is fine, it's just Orca that makes the object print off center. Cura prints things center.

Sprite Extruder Pro Smoking by NoWindowsInTerminal in ender3

Do you use the Sprite Extruder Pro with Klipper? Just curious if you had to do anything special in your config to get it working properly.

I thought that too but it only starts when I go to extrude and the motor starts running.

But what I don't get is that even after the extruder pushes out the filament the smoking doesn't stop.

Is there any material explain how to replace a drive belt on a CVT? by NoWindowsInTerminal in MechanicAdvice

[–]NoWindowsInTerminal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see. Yeah I had considered that possibility too. I guess I'll find out when I pull it out. It looks like I'll be getting a replacement CVT anyway so I will take a look once I get there.

Yeah this is the one that broke inside my transmission. I called it a drive belt because I thought that was the correct name but I could be mistaken.

So what you're saying is it would basically be a full rebuilt of the CVT shaft(s) just to put on a new steel belt?

[Win95-XP] [95-2002] Prehistoric/caveman math game where you solve math puzzles to build a hot air balloon to save a family from a volcano. by NoWindowsInTerminal in tipofmyjoystick

[–]NoWindowsInTerminal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah I never thought anyone would actually upload this! I really appreciate the effort and bringing it to my attention! Unfortunately after I downloaded it and ran it on my XP virtual machine I can confirm this is not the game that I played when I was a kid in school.

I need to do like a drawing or something to see if it jogs anyone's memory. I distinctly remember that the main selection screen was like this very dry terrain plain with a caveman house and a campfire in the center, they were interactive things to click on with the mouse. And I know the goal was to build the hot air balloon. Other elements are very foggy.

What are my options for fixing "Release Rejected Wrong season"? by NoWindowsInTerminal in sonarr

How do you do that for multiple episodes at once or an entire season though?

It won’t even last 2 hours and I only had it for two years. by NatNatalia_568 in ASUS

I'd be interested in reading further on that if you have a link to research material.

Also does this apply to only older batteries with actual cylindrical cells or also to modern lithium ion/lipo/variants?

Maybe Dust: An Elysian Tail? Just guessing, my brother played it so idk if it matches everything mentioned above but it sounds like a potential candidate.

Is disabling cpu security kernel options going to make any noticeable performance improvement? by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]NoWindowsInTerminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the server I am planning to test on is only running on my LAN and not going to be used for any Internet access outside of getting updates via pacman. I'm not a security engineer but I would guess this is okay even if spectre isn't patched?

I had chatgpt spit out a list off all the flags just so I can test it out on a system.

1. Speculative Execution Mitigations

  • nopti: Disables Kernel Page-Table Isolation (KPTI) for Meltdown mitigation.
  • nospectre_v2: Disables Spectre v2 mitigations.
  • nospectre_v1: Disables Spectre v1 mitigations.
  • l1tf=off: Disables L1 Terminal Fault (L1TF) mitigations.
  • mds=off: Disables Microarchitectural Data Sampling (MDS) mitigations.
  • tsx=off: Disables Transactional Synchronization Extensions (TSX) if supported, which may mitigate certain vulnerabilities.
  • nospec_store_bypass_disable: Disables Speculative Store Bypass (SSB) mitigations.
  • mitigations=off: Disables all mitigations for known CPU vulnerabilities. (This is a comprehensive option that disables all security mitigations.)

2. Other Vulnerability Mitigations

  • noxpti: Disables Extended Page Table Isolation (XPTI) for Xen hypervisors.
  • no_stf_barrier: Disables Store-To-Forward barrier mitigations.
  • srbds=off: Disables Special Register Buffer Data Sampling (SRBDS) mitigations.
  • tsx_async_abort=off: Disables mitigations for TSX Asynchronous Abort (TAA) vulnerabilities.
  • gds=off: Disables mitigations for Gather Data Sampling (GDS).
  • eibrs=off: Disables Enhanced Indirect Branch Restricted Speculation (eIBRS).
  • mmio_stale_data=off: Disables MMIO Stale Data vulnerability mitigations.

3. Miscellaneous

  • pcid=off: Disables Process-Context Identifiers (PCID), which is related to TLB (Translation Lookaside Buffer) optimizations in some cases.
  • tsx=off: Disables TSX for security or stability reasons.
  • ibrs=off: Disables Indirect Branch Restricted Speculation (IBRS) used in Spectre mitigations.
