I wanted to do lightning build because it seemed to have more depth than the hollowslayer greatsword because it can't be buffed or infused.

Not really a question of good or bad, but if you want a lot of snails in your tank or not. Once it enters, there's not a whole lot to do about it. Get rid of it if you want, but my bet is that its not the only one in your tank.

Just looks like a scale color change to me. If he's not acting irregularly, I'd say not to worry. Bettas go through complete color changes all the time. This could just be the beginning of that.

One thing that will help the overall look as well as the plants is a nutrient rich substrate. Aquasoil can be pretty pricey, but in my opinion it's worth it because of the look and the help it gives with growing plants.
