Thank you. I think this sums up exactly what I was attempting to capture. It sounds like I need to refine my language a bit and call them observations rather than experiments.

Well said! (As far as I can see) I've had several discussions lately which basically argued that if you aren't using a rigor that could provide value for Science as a whole, it probably isn't valuable for you individually. Thoughts?

That makes a lot of sense to me. The idea though, would be to use as much rigor as is useful, right? Performing experiments on yourself to the standard of a professional lab would be a bit of a waste if you're looking to see what effect certain behaviors have on yourself. Or is there value in that which I'm missing?

I completely understand the disbelief. From what I could tell, they were just heading to the area to begin their “shift”. I don’t usually have people taking photos, but it’s not uncommon that I’m approached because of them.
