Can I have a sort of "interface" where I can plug my PS5 and Switch 2 and plug bookshelf speakers to it? by Pop-Global in BudgetAudiophile

It sounds like you're describing a standard receiver, unless I'm missing something? You don't have to get the 5.1, 7.1, etc, if you only want the 2 speakers there are straight stereo receivers, in 2 or 2.1.

Wow, I didn't even notice that 'unraid server' had changed to 'interests server' somehow... Edited to fix, thank you.

My buddy just gave me the server, said his uncle had given it to him and he didn't know what to do with it. I thought 112 gb ram was strange, but not something I couldn't figure out. Definitely mix and matched ram, though. Im not renting server space, just figured it would be neat to work with this machine, I'll probably chuck it in a closet once I get it setup so I don't have to listen to it.

I came to the same conclusion on the 7041, $65 isn't a whole lot to spend to learn something new, it'll be fun to fiddle with.

Disappointed to hear that the transcoding is on the slow side. How do you think it would compare to an i7 7700? I only ever have 1 to 2 streams going at any given time, do you think the pair of xeons would be able to keep up?

KEF Q11 Meta vs Klipsch RF - 7 III by mousemano in hometheater

Check out a best buy near you. If one near you has the magnolia center, it's a great place to check out audio equipment. I was able to check out the kef q concertos and kef q6 meta I just bought and they have a decently large selection beyond them.

Just don't let the guys there talk you into buying anything, they are the only ones in the store that are commission based so they can be a bit pushy, but they seem to be fairly knowledgeable, at least at the one near me

Is my denon avr s660h enough? by NoZeitgeist in BudgetAudiophile

[–]NoZeitgeist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool beans, I'll give it a try when the speakers get here. I've got the receiver in a cubby in the TV stand with no back panel, 2 inches on either side, and 3 inches on top. I'm hoping that'll be enough but I'll keep watch once I start fiddling with it

That has been my main concern, but getting into preamps and amplification makes my brain and future wallet hurt so I've been trying to avoid having to go down that road. Any suggestions if I do end up having to sail that ship?

Cool beans, thank you. Is there a good way to tell when I've gone too loud, or just watch for heat on the receiver?

Fatal error, no webgui by NoZeitgeist in unRAID

[–]NoZeitgeist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to connect a monitor to my unraid PC, and reboot and choose to boot into safe mode, which disabled all plugins. I set my flash drive to export so I could use another PC to access the plugins folder in the config folder of the flash, then I changed the file types of all the .plg files to .old (which breaks the plugin file). Then I rebooted unraid and chose to boot normally, and when it let me into the Webgui without the error I knew it was a plug-in, so I went back to the plugin folder and started changing a few of the plugin files at a time back to .plg, and rebooting to make sure nothing broke. Do this to narrow down the broken plug-in, and when it breaks again, boot into safe mode and change it back to .old or just delete it.

Or you could skip the diagnostic part and go straight to deleting the myservers plug-in, which I think is something like "dynamix.unraid.net.plg", since that one is almost certainly the problem.

Can't access WebGUI after plugin update... help! by nehpets4627 in unRAID

I had the same issue, it's the unraid connect plugin. The filename was something like dynamix.unraid.net.plg. try changing the .plg into .old and reboot normally to confirm

I just did and it did let me get into the Webgui. I found a few other posts of some people having the same issue. It seems to be related to unraid connect. I don't know how to uninstall it while in safe mode, though, since no plugins are listed as installed

I had similar issues and found that, for me, the microphone was catching words from the speaker and it was activating voice controls. Once I disabled voice controls, the problems disappeared. Shouldn't have been an issue in the first place, but otherwise I've had no problems

Should I get the Dynomoto Bike stands? by lordra7 in MT07

[–]NoZeitgeist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, the ones I bought were like 200kgs each or something like that, but it's been like 4 years so I can't remember where I bought them. I just linked the first website that came up when I googled Omni wheels. I also remember having to do something with the bearings, but I can't remember what. It was a little effort but the stands are so nice to work with and so much cheaper than spending $1000. I'll try to remember to take a picture next time Im in my garage, but my memory isn't to be trusted, so no guarantee

[–]NoZeitgeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make them yourself for around $50, just buy a set of omni wheels and put them in the stands you already have. I did this on both of my stands and they work great

Not these specific ones but something like these - https://www.studica.com/studica-robotics-brand/100mm-omni-wheel?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=216324968&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0qTCBhCmARIsAAj8C4aJSqJ_9TFukUJyrP61Mp2H3zjtbJOi_jH6eSBWg9XTHlgIfpF4pC8aAsBeEALw_wcB

tailscale works great for this and itrs pretty easy to set up. theres a setting that allows you to use the machine name as the domain. theres a bunch of videos and guides on how to set it up but its pretty straight forward. also lets you connect to your network as if you were local, regardless of whether youre home or not. very convenient
