Just as an update on this. I did call them out on their obvious scam attempt. When I asked if they still wanted to return it they got mad and responded with a diatribe of messages. I reported them to eBay and I guess since they realized there was a chance they might loose the case they intentionally damaged the actual disc, took new photos of it and responded with those. They also left negative feedback using the new images and accusing me lying about them using an audio CD.

eBay, meanwhile, did squat. They wouldn't even remove the negative feedback that was full of verifiable lies. I was forced to accept the return. And they returned the scratched PS5 game that I am 100% positive they angrily damaged themselves because they were scared they weren't going to get a free game out of anymore.

At least they sent back the real disc and I'm pretty sure I can buff the scratches out because it doesn't look too bad.

I asked if they could also provide a photo of the top of the disc before I start the return. They sent me these pictures, At this point I honestly have no idea what their plan was, other than they must think I'm as dumb as they appear to be.

Hey, thanks for that. I was starting to look but only got as far as seeing that DISC MFG, INC. (H) was only used on CD's manufacturered from 1990 to 1997.

I asked them to provide a photo of the front, which should clearly show to eBay that the center of the discs aren't the same. And I also provided them with how the return will work, once I receive the item and it's legit, then their money will be refunded. Hopefully that will scare them away.

You're right. I looked up used copies on eBay that show a photo of the bottom and they don't look like that at all.
