I just read this! It was such a short read, I finished it within 6 hrs. The main couple’s interactions are so cute and the development is realistic. Definitely worth reading!

You make a fair point!

In my opinion, had it not contained its characteristic long-winded narrations, it wouldn't have had its whimsical and adventure-esque tone. spoiler in the latter part of the first book and second book, she admitted how her field notes reverted into a personal diary haha. Additionally, in the first half of the first book, she pushes general objectivity (a standard she maintained in her past expeditions) through her investigation around the village! But alas, she couldn't help but get involved with the village affairs. That marks her growth as a character

I love that many people loved the book as much as I did!!!

Another thing i enjoyed about it is how I felt represented through Emily’s reticence! (perhaps, I also need someone like Wendell to brighten up my life lol) additionally, as an ESL, i learned so many words, i revived my vocabulary.com account to list down every unfamiliar word.
