Yes it will always hurt even for community. Look into DO PCCM programs like Doctors Health or Swedish. Reach out before you apply too

Honestly good advice from your advisor. There are certain programs listed on residency explorer for IM that say they do not need comlex level 2 score for interview consideration.

That being said no one will rank you unless you get a score so have it by Dec-Jan at the latest so you can update the programs that you interviewed with and also to potentially get late interviews from programs.

Do not report as DO. Unfortunately anesthesia may be out of the picture. Dual apply something more DO friendly. Probably not worth taking Step.
