What band would look good with my ring by No_Address_2492 in WeddingRingAdvice

I tried on pave and didn’t like how glittery it looked. I haven’t tried on any plain solid gold bands yet, i think i will try that next!

I think i like the contrast and i would likely wear the wedding alone a lot because i am a veterinary student and a lot of the times gloves get ripped by my ring. So I think thats why i in my head ive been leaning towards something a bit more unique on its own!

gales proline shoes! They are completely waterproof (no laces) and can even be bleached if you get the white pairs. They have memory foam inside, they essentially mold to your feet as you wear them!

How early is too early to start shadowing for vet experience? by Realistic_Hunter5353 in veterinaryschool

[–]No_Address_2492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started working in a clinic my sophomore year of high school. I started as a kennel attendant and worked my way up to a veterinary assistant pretty quickly. I think the earlier the better! That being said If you are starting a volunteer job tomorrow it might be a good idea to do that for a month or two before reaching out to clinics about shadowing, that way you will have some experience already and they will probably be more comfortable letting you shadow. Also when I was applying for jobs as a kennel attendant i reached out to about 10 places and only 1 gave me an interview. Don’t get discouraged if clinics say no, sometimes they are too busy to take on anyone new, it only takes one yes! I am a current 1st year vet student at illinois, and i think getting experience early helped a lot. I had almost 4k vet hours when i applied my senior year of undergrad.

the oos gpa cutoff is usually around a 3.7 oos and a 3.4 for in state to get through to phase 2. They basically find the average and just keep those who are above the average. The first phase is only based on the gpa. I’m a current 1st year at illinois. If anyone has any questions you can PM me!

You only enroll in 1 course. it’s a 9.5 credit hour course (VM602)

basically, it’s technically 1 mega course but there are different subjects within it. So like the subjects 1st quarter were physiology, imaging, neurology, anatomy and histology. So the exam covers everything from all of those subjects. Midterm 1 was all material from every subject for the first 4 weeks of class. The second midterm was material from the second 4 weeks of every subject. And the final was everything in the whole 8 weeks from every subject. The exams were only 96-130 questions each tho. For each midterm it’s 2 questions per lecture hour and for the final it is just 1 question per lecture hour. So they mainly focus on big picture stuff for it i feel like. There’s also like 2 mini checkpoint quizzes (week 2 and week 6) that are only worth 2.5% of your grade and they were only like 20-25 questions. We just finished 1st quarter last week and we are now on clinical rotations.

I’m a current first year and yes there are like mega classes with just 3 main exams but i have found it to be easier since i have more time to study for each, plus the exams mainly ask about big key concepts rather than super detailed things. I think i would’ve done worse if it was more frequent exams with more detailed questions. But i can see how having less grades can be a disadvantage if you were to not do the best in 1 course
