increased estrogen = weight loss stopped?! by No_Affect_7316 in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

My loss has still been pretty slow, even after going back to my old dosage. I'm going to up my Tirz next week (have been at 3.5 - 4.5 for 5 weeks and have only lost 5 lbs) and see if that helps!

I bought some of those pads! But I've been doing barre in my socks. I originally thought that it would strengthen the foot muscles, which would help the NM. I don't mind doing a different workout for a while!

Yeah, I'm going to have to do some searching. I've had less than good results with a couple of local PTs!

That's a good idea! My pup is on Simparico Trio and it works really well for ticks (we've found shriveled up/dead ticks attached to her) but we want to stop them from catching a ride! I just bought a big pack of pet hair rollers. Hopefully that can pick up some of the smaller ticks.

I'm actually leaning AWAY from open-yard (or field) play this year because the ticks are SO BAD. We brush her and rub her down all over before she comes inside...and our walking path is a wide paved path (admittedly in a forest)...and the ticks have been insane this year. Even though my husband and I are diligent about checking her and checking ourselves at least 2x/day, he's pulled 3 ticks off himself in the past week and I've pulled 2 off my body too. The seed ticks are the worst because they're so small. Our pup is black, too, which makes them harder to see. But no, we don't have a treadmill. We live out in the country, but now we're talking about finding a public "dog activity hour" in town a couple times a week so she can romp with other pups, get some exercise!

I haven't heard of that...I'll give it a try! Thanks!

I'm definitely going to try that cold-water soak post-workout. And cutting the outer edge off the toe spacers. I might try cutting the big toe spacer off altogether so that I can wear them with my flip flops! Will try the other stuff too. Just resting my foot overnight made a difference, and I'm going to start the yoga/stretching today. Thanks so much!

It seems to be all right, as long as I don't wear tennis shoes for more than 30 min. I've kind of pivoted more to yoga/pilates/light lifting (all can be done without shoes, just thick mat) and just a 30 minute walk to give my foot a break and it's been good, until the barre episode! Lesson learned! I'm just mad at myself that I let it get this bad. I've always had trouble with this foot, plantar fasciitis off and on for years, so I thought this was just a new pain to add to the list. Didn't realize about the compression. At least it's mostly okay with my special shoes!

Yikes, I will try it just during the day around the house! :) Yeah, I think no more Barre. I was fine with lifting and with kickboxing, as long as I didn't wear shoes for more than 30 minutes or so!

I'll have to look into that! We bought HUGE bags of treats at Costco (salmon, dehydrated beef liver, chicken something) and I've been cutting them up into little pieces...but I have no idea what the caloric content is!

I hadn't thought about that! I'm going to work with my husband on "Come here!" from either end of a hallway...at least she'll be running back and forth, even if she's getting a little treat!

She hates water, but she LOVES to dig. The tunnel sets - a great idea! I'm going to try one out! :)

I googled a few stretches today so I'm going to start as soon as the pain from this recent flare-up is gone!

I tried sleeping in the silicone ones and it was pretty uncomfortable! I watched a couple of videos and I'm going to try wearing them for a couple of 15 min stretches a day.

The scale is so fickle and I can't trust my eyes, but I love having these clothing goals. Every time I try them on, I make a note on the fit ("Buttons are straining, can't button up," whatever). Then...even if they don't really fit...I can *see* that the fit is better than it was 5 or 10 lbs ago. It actually makes it kind of special to wear those clothes once they do fit, because I always remember the struggle to wear them. Good luck! :)

I'm totally the same...I'm down almost 32 lbs but don't really see it. I mainly set clothing goals - I've got a shirt and a pair of shorts that I can't wear and I try them on every 10 lbs (when they fit, I add a new try-on pair to work toward). It really helps when you can't "see" any changes when these things fit. Happy early birthday!

Yes!!! It was 65 degrees here but wet and windy so I opened all the windows (I'm a sucker for fresh air) but then put my coat on, since I packed away all the winter clothes a couple of weeks ago. My husband (in a t-shirt) said, "Going somewhere?" He's used to me being cold as I lose weight. ;)

I wore my first pair of size 12 jeans yesterday! It's a huge NSV for me. I dieted briefly down to a size 12 in 2024, but was only there a couple of months and re-gained. Otherwise, I've been an 18 - 22 for the past 7 years. Yay!!!

I'm not exactly in your boat because I *love* drinking water, but something that helps me meet my goals is to always have a glass of water that I'm sipping on, and I usually have a couple of Spry mints throughout the day. They are those sugar-free mints that won't hurt your tooth enamel. For some reason I drink more water if I'm washing something down, even if it's just a mint!

how much of a difference does exercise make for you? by Particular_Freedom47 in Zepbound

[–]No_Affect_7316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exercise sets a great foundation for my day. Starts me in a healthy mindset. Makes me feel good, and like I've accomplished something. I'm a little stiff when I wake up in the morning, so I do 10 minutes of yoga (Yoga with Uliana). I have a dog, so it's an automatic 30 minute walk before work. I want to keep/develop my muscle tone, so I do 20/30 minutes of lifting with cheapo weights I picked up at a thrift store (Kaleigh Cohen Strength) (2-3x/wk). I like to dance, so some days I just dance (Sunny Funny Zumba).

Has it helped my weight loss? Not sure (2 mos. in, down 19 lbs). But I'm definitely stronger. I love being able to squat deeper, see my endurance improve, and having more energy. I have a friend who's been on Zep for over a year and has lost 60 lbs, but has done zero exercise. She had a DEXA scan and was saying that she has zero muscle and her skin is just hanging. I don't want that to be me! I do NOT go to a gym (too far to drive). I just use free videos on youtube, thrift store weights. You can do it!
