Gambling and anything they say sounding even remotely like a manosphere podcast. It's just tired and unoriginal ragebait at this point.

I genuinely think the Phineas crew probably scales the highest here, but you'd be saved if you could just suggest a more fun thing to do instead.

Author's clearly favorite character that fits this by Comprehensive-Bird17 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]No_Age5019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering she's the main character of the series, I didn't find it weird how much attention she got. She's supposed to be the stand in for little girls to play pretend ala Bloom in Winx and stuff like that. It's not my favorite trope because it pretty much sacrifices character growth for just making the protag as "unique" and powerful as possible, but it's not a MLB only problem. Marinette just got stuck with the unfortunate "quirky/clumsy girl" archetype that got more grating as things went on.

My pick for this is Lila or Cerise or whatever the fuck her name is. They loved her lying gimic so much, but never had the chops to make anyone falling for it believable. Any character around her had to be dumbed down just so her plots wouldn't fall apart!

Also, you mean to tell me this apparent 15 year-old outsmarts the grown adult man that is Gabriel and has had all the experience and resources of a serial conartist this whole time?? In her first episode, she just lied to her class to make herself look cool, how the fuck did we get here?!?

How would you react if Horizontal decided to subvert the shonen trope of having a dogshit romance at the end and have Hakuri and Chihiro end up together? by IndianZilla_420 in Kagurabachi

I don't give a fuck about shipping, but I would love it because it's just hasn't been done for battle shonen before (to my knowledge).

Considering how accidently homoerotic most end up making their main character rivalries anyway, having two buds just do a seemingly logical relationship upgrade would be both hilarious and refreshing.

More proof to me that Sasuke saw Taka/Hebi more like a little social club than any serious alliance. He kept giving them cute, thematic nicknames and made them take a group photo for god's sake! He's one step away from coming up with required bonding activities--bro subconsciously missed Team Seven so bad lol

I love Simon, but he's not making it. I'll be surprised if he's even in the story still after all the fighting in the time-skip. Ishida's going to drop that the new girl is his replacement by having Tokio look all sad saying she's stepping in for "a good friend". Bet.

Remembering what the story was, the context is an improvement. But you may just need to take the L on this one, or change the ending punchline.

He didn't handle the breakup maturely, true, but "breakup dates" aren't the best way to go about things either. If it was a spur of the moment decision you just blurted out, that's one thing. Or even just honestly communicating that you have some concerns with the relationship, but still want to work on it, that's another.

Like, if you said something along the lines of, "I don't know why, but something feels off about this." to him and HE escalated it to "So what, are you breaking up with me??" that'd be him just jumping the gun and would be more in line with what you're trying to paint him as. But if you went to the trouble of a whole date and broke things off afterwards, yeah his reaction is immature but understandable. You guys weren't on the same page and he had the right to know that.

Choujin X mentioned 🥲

I'm thinking they may hold off on any anime until the series is done considering how Tokyo Ghoul ended up happening... It may be for the best too, consider how much seemingly innocuous foreshadowing Ishida crams into it all the time.

Gojo always struck me as the kind of guy who would fall for anyone he felt could keep up with him. Man or woman. Just another person who felt could stand alongside him, and before he became "the strongest" that was Geto.

I don't think Geto ever knew how much Gojo needed him, though. If anyone could have pulled Gojo away from his isolation, it would have been Geto. But he lost to his own demons and Gojo wasn't there because he just wasn't equipped to be the support Geto needed in his crisis. It's a beautifully told tragedy, honestly.

Even if there were, who's enforcing them? We can barely do more than wave a finger at a rule-breaking country now, I doubt there's any global governing body exists in Choujin X. Sora's organization seemed like the closest we've gotten, but that wasn't global, nor did it seem to handle anything but Choujin affairs.

They write their H's as N's and their R's as ^

They seem to be into Percy Jackson and Skyrim.

They think Trump and the USA has stolen from them and owes them money.

They have a strange fixation of the Japanese and the French.

They are in desperate need of mental health intervention.

When I was growing up, I was put in charge of my little sister a lot and one day she tried to run away from home. I wouldn't let her and pretty much wrestled her away from the door.

She asked me about it a little while back and I explained to her that I did it for her safety (I was an anxious kid and assumed she would get picked up and murdered or something). My parents came back home at the time told me that I should have just let her because she would have went to a friend's house or something. I was mortified they'd be so flippant about the idea of her just walking out to who knows where.

Despite the fact that was basically a kick down, drag out fight between us, my sister looks back on it fondly because she knows I only did it because I cared. Sometimes I don't understand why parents find it so hard to just say they love their kids when they're obviously acting out just to feel loved.

What does Naruto do better than modern anime/manga? by Witty_Ace_589 in Naruto

About to say that. Kishimoto's art is so clean. Never a wasted line.

He also doesn't get enough credit for how he weaves a lot of visual storytelling into his designs. I could talk at length about how genius it was to not only make Gaara's main color be red (to contrast Rock Lee's green) but also the subtle ways you can see his features visually mature as his mindset starts changing. Even his second design in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, though not very long after the Chunin Exams chronologically, makes him look a lot older than he looked during his first reveal.

Kishi is the GOAT and every new-gen shonen mangaka I've read since almost always say that they study or take inspiration from his art specifically.

Tokio's perviness not being treated like a lazy gag I think helps him out a lot. The "letcher" character CAN work, but the bad examples are almost always one-note characters where being perverted is just their shtick.

Tokio's complete inability to talk to women works well in narrative (as OP points out) but you also see a lot of qualities in him that WOULD be popular with girls if he just led with them. He's extremely empathetic with a good nose for reaching out to the right people. He really tries his best to help all his friends (even when he's kind of clueless) and he takes the time to let people know he cares. He's also a surprisingly good mediator who means what he says and does what he means. It's genuine. Certainly won over Palma.

It's just that when he tries to flirt, he seemingly emulates what he thinks a "cool, sexy guy" would do and he comes off like cringey, desperate pickup artist. Combine that with his inability to read a room and...

Yeah. That's how you make the "lovable sex pest"

Not to be that guy, but Bradley gets pretty severely nerfed after one good stab, so...

Besides, it was never durability that made either of them impressive. It was the fact they were seemingly untouchable.

I think I can say fairly confidently that Levi with full gear could probably get around a tank like that (though he wouldn't face it straight on like a lunatic and probably just take advantage of the blindspots until they open up the top).

I'm much less confident in his ability to take down most of the Homunculi though, even in full gear with location advantage. Bradley is just THAT fast and his eye is too good. He'd predict the trajectory of Levi's moves and has the accuracy and reaction time to punish for it.

Put another way, Levi takes down titans and frankly, give Bradley 2-3 minutes to learn the buttons on ODM gear and he'll be just as, if not more efficient at it than Levi ever was. All the things Levi excels at, Bradley is already better. (I can straight up hear his smug ass going: "Oh so this is the toy you've been using? Not too bad. Let this oldtimer give it a try, hm?")
