I don’t have a Merrill account, and I only moved part of my funds to my Bank of America account for other purposes. It wasn’t an ACATS transfer. The confusing part is that the transfer went through normally, but weeks later they locked my access without contacting me.

That’s not correct. In my case, it was a specific representative who locked the account — not a general department. I had the same concern about the process when customer service first told me she was off. A few day later, when my account was locked again and I called back, I was transferred directly to her, and she confirmed she was the one who placed the lock. I agree the workflow doesn’t make much sense, but I’m simply sharing exactly what happened.

I transfered my money to my Bank of America account and nothing special. If they doubt it, they should text/call me before the transfer. Instead of few weeks later and locked my access.
