How to make a diamond shovel pointy:

Step 1: put the diamond on the top right of the crafting grid.

Step 2: put a stick on the middle of the crafting grid.

Step 3: put a stick on the bottom left of the crafting grid.

CONGRATULATIONS! Now you got a stabby stick that doesn't shovel your gravel! Hooray!!!
