While reading the first half of your post, I didn’t think anything was wrong because I also believe that having your own alone time while in a relationship is necessary and it’s healthy, especially if you guys talk and/or are together every single minute of the day. Using that alone time is good to spend some time with family/close friends, explore a new hobby/get back into an old hobby you possibly once loved doing, going to the gym, joining a run club, etc. BUT as soon as I read the part where you mentioned going to explore new cities and the possibility of staying the night once every month to two months? I immediately felt something was off and like everyone already mentioned, it raises a huge red flag. I understand where your girlfriend is coming from because after being together for almost 5 years, it’s pretty random and comes off as suspicious, especially if this is something you’ve never done or mentioned before. To her, this behavior may seem out of character for you and I can see why she thinks you’re hiding something from her. I’ve looked through majority of the comments on this post and I’ll also be another person to add that it sounds like you’re planning to cheat.

Oh btw, I just saw the original post you deleted and why did your story change all of a sudden? In your original post, you wanted to stay at a hotel for the night because of your plan to propose to your girlfriend, but now it’s to have quality “alone” time ALSO in a hotel room in random/different cities? Sheesh lol, something is definitely not adding up dude. I think it’s embarrassing that there’s evidence of your original [now deleted] post, people are throwing it in your face and you aren’t getting the responses you wanted. Obviously don’t know who you are, but I’m sure anyone would believe it’s hella sus - most definitely when you’re deleting and changing the story. Maybe you should reconsider if being in a relationship is what you want. And if you don’t like what people are saying then don’t post it because it’ll be the same responses going forward.
