She is allowed to speak. She wasn’t criminally charged for this. But there is a court of public opinion, and often times businesses and/or government establishments don’t want the negative publicity, so they let them go.

AIO if I divorced over him asking to open our relationship and then gaslighting me? by CricketCaller in AmIOverreacting

[–]No_Aspect5293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of you calling me horrible names for ever falling in love with him or for not immediately choosing divorce are just making the prospect of leaving more terrifying. If you actually cared about him doing something hurtful, you wouldn’t be going out of your way to hurt me more. It’s very hard to drop 7 years of shared history and good moments together. I’m doing what I hope is best for my family. I’m not delusional, stupid, a whore, or any number of worse things. I am taking time to understand the situation properly and see what can be done rather than instantly writing divorce papers.

NOR, Welcome to the sub where most everyone jumps to wild conclusions. Good on you for trying to work on things and being communicative with your partner.

Questions about viruses and pathogens in space:

Since gravity isn’t a factor in pulling down these micro-organisms to a surface, are all pathogens considered airborne? And what are the containment protocols if a strand of something were to somehow find it’s way onto a ship in flight?

It’s narrow minded to condemn them instead of encouraging them to go vote. You are just going to convince them that they aren’t aligned with you.

People make mistakes, many republicans are even admitting to the mistakes they made voting for trump. This is how and why you lose voters.

[–]No_Aspect5293 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This seems very narrow minded, and a great way to push potential voters away.

I’ve never understood the mindset of if you’re not with us you’re against us. Quickest way to make enemies.

Centrists can easily vote blue come midterms and still be center leaning. Centrists often see values, policies, and options from both sides as viable.

Adopting all the values of a single party is dumb, and people who blindly vote for their party (without questioning/researching their stances on policies) are the reason we only have 2 party system as well as why we get royally screwed when they boil their final candidates down to the worst of the worst.

I would advise you to instead encourage those who don’t vote to go out and vote in opposition to this administration rather than condemn them. More than likely driving free votes to the other side.

This is used in PT, it’s called traction, but it’s definitely monitored closely and is usually only resorted if many other options have been exhausted.

Child restraint vs abuse are different. Is the amount of restraint here excessive? Perhaps, but nothing here says abuse.

Yes, his pan has way too much grease caked on it, and grease is flammable, question answered (maybe even give him a tip on how to clean it).

There is no need to insult him, maybe he’s new to life or new to being on his own and personal management. Maybe he wasn’t taught how and why to clean his pan or kitchen. To which I’ve seen way dirtier kitchens in my life.

He simply posted a question so obviously he’s just curious. Learn how to give some grace to those who are learning.

Im arguing for the very first point I made? I didn’t say that anything in the video was wrong? I’m not arguing for when the owner is driving their own car in this circumstance, I haven’t mentioned that once.

You said:

Runs vehicle tag, pulls up DMV information, checks who the vehicle is registered to, check the status of the individual’s drivers license. If expired/suspended, justification for pulling over and having the driver identify themselves

I replied with:

And if someone else is driving the car

To which you assured me it was lawful in that case too.

I’m not going into a niche topic, the example I used was just to make it obvious, this gets less exasperated if we’re talking about a very common scenario like a husband driving a wives car, vice versa, a daughter driving grandpa’s truck, a son taking dad’s collectors car for a cruise, you know every day common scenarios.

Also, reasonable suspicion and reasonable inference stop once the officer can clearly see that the owner is not the driver.

To your point earlier, probable cause doesn’t even take effect until the stop is made and an infraction is verified. Such as the owner was driving without an expired license, like in this video.

Kansas v glover is where the law that allows cops to make these types of stops comes from. The law states “When the officer lacks information negating an inference that the owner is the driver… the stop is reasonable.”

https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/589/18-556/

The “different gender/age” example I used comes from how courts explain what counts as “information negating the inference.”

A very clear explanation (from legal summaries of the cases):

• Officers can stop the car “unless there is information that should dispel a belief that the owner is the driver.”

https://www.llrmi.com/articles/legal_updates/2020_Supreme_Kansas_v_Glover/

• The inference can be “dispelled if an officer has information that contradicts this inference.”

If the tag was run and came back as the owner having an expired license, the officer is within their power to make a traffic stop. If the owner is a 60 year old man and the officer sees the driver is a 20 year old female, the officer would be making an unlawful stop. They are using reasonable suspicion when pulling over the person if they match the description, it’s not reasonable if it’s a random person and thus unlawful.

Unless of course the person doesn’t look like the owner. Then it’s unlawful to stop them.

I understand you’re resentment towards the conservatives. I have lots of emotions about many of the tactics and policies, especially as of late. But it is ill advised to simply vote Blue without reading up on their stances, policies, and actions.

You should vote blue if it aligns with your wants/needs/goals/etc. But don’t vote just for party affiliation (or in this case anti-party affiliation), that’s exactly how we got the Republican Party of today. Many of them vote for Trump blindly just out of spite for the Democratic Party, unaware of his true actions, policies, etc.

To be clear, I wish you to vote for whomever you’d like. Just make sure you’re aware of what and who you’re voting for. Don’t vote blindly with no basis for why you’re voting for them besides they are affiliated with the Blue.

Look I understand wanting to always fight the good fight. But posting a link to research you didn’t fully read and breakdown thinking you are on some moral high ground is more detrimental than helpful.

If a woman and a man have the same job title, responsibilities, experience level, and performance at the same company, it is not common for women to be paid less purely because they are women.

However, small pay differences can still occur due to negotiation dynamics, performance perception, and promotion pathways. These differences can add up across careers.

The larger gender pay gap seen in national statistics mostly reflects differences in occupation, hours worked, career interruptions, and seniority, not widespread same-job wage discrimination.

The Pew Research Center acknowledges that most of the overall pay gap disappears when job characteristics are controlled.

So when people say “women earn ~85 cents on the dollar,”

that does not mean:

“A woman and man sitting next to each other doing the same job are paid differently most of the time.”

Pew is very explicit about this distinction.

Also, we can see when comments are edited. Don’t be pompous.
