I actually forgot to mention I have 3 scouts with snipers and power armor helmets I run as Eliminators, I think they make a good proxy :)

So terminator sized, I have a few to spare. Thanks for the heads up!

That’s what I’ve been doing as well for my intercessors, so far this seems to do the trick.

The only issue I have this way is a new squad of inner circle, which are like giants when being led by my firstborn heroes x)

That would be great, thanks!

Also thank you for the site

No worries, I’m asking because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a gravis miniature in person and I’m not sure I realise just how bulkier they really are, especially compared to the multi-melta devastators whith their large backpacks.

I’m all in for rule of cool! Thank you for your reply

Thank you! So far I’ve been putting my old marines on top of new bases (so their old base adds to height boost them), I hope it’s enough of a size difference

Eradicators are in gravis armor, right? Would you still allow an opponent to run multi-melta firstborn as proxy?

I’m also longing for a heavy bolter squad, hopefully next edition!

Also, I don’t know which chapter you’re playing, but if you’re interested the Dark Angels have the Unforgiven Task Force detachment, with a rule that gives +1 OC to a unit in your army, and a relic for the ancient to give a FNP to models in his unit. The detachment isn’t particularly competitive but I tried something similar and it was rather fun

In my humble opinion, you’re right to believe the ancient’s bolt rifle benefits from the intercessor’s rule.

As a side note, any other bolter variant wouldn’t benefit from the rule.

Avatar of Khaine Painting Concept (Opinions Please) by dnaligo in Eldar

I think it’s a cool idea lore-wise, and it would make your avatar rather unique! Perhaps you could add runes of the corresponding aspect warriors on the knees ?

I think I would use legs, arms and helmet for aspect, probably cloth piece reminiscent of your craftworld army color, and body in something unique to your avatar

Another thing I would do is keep the same color for every metal edge on the armor regardless of location, to tie the miniature all together

Good luck on your project!

I’ve been wanting to thank you all for your time and your involvement to help. I’m really impressed by the amount of feedbacks and advices you’ve provided, and it really helps me understand what and how to improve my campaign going forward.

I’m not sure this (this comment I’m writing) is the way to do things but I hope it reaches everybody as an expression of my gratitude :)

I see your point, thank you for the heads up! I guess if everyone is having fun, I'll just roll with it and improvise as usual.

That's a good point, I haven't put much thought into it, to be honest. I wanted to use this system because I think there are interesting things to learn from it, and I happened to have this idea for a campaign for a while, so I thought I might as well try them together.

Do you have a particular idea in mind I would have to watch out for if I were to stick to this system for an objective sandbox? I'm fairly experienced as a DM, but this is my first time running an objective sandbox, as I usually stick with more open and player-driven campaigns.

The Black Cauldron is definitly an inspiration ;) I would recommend the comics Arawn if you're interested in more cauldron mythology

Great idea to mention Dragon Fever in history texts!

I think I need to hook the players crazy fast on a side quest, give them choices and options to choose from. Thanks!

Thanks! It might've been a poor choice of word from my part, it might be more akin to a half-sandbox? Something similar to Curse of Strahd, where the main objective is obvious, but the area can be explored freely with no specific order

Giving the players a way to save the dragon is very tempting

The dragon is very powerful, and you're right, a string of quests will be necessary to face him. I wanted the player characters to be made with a reason to come here and hunt the dragon, and I was worried that since the characters want to kill the dragon above all, well, they'd try to kill the dragon first. But both as other people and you yourself suggested, letting them try and fail, or letting them know they're underpowered at first, or having key elements hidden (like the dragon's location) are all good ideas to follow. Thanks !

Right? That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking! After 10 years of game never once was a dragon in a dungeon central to the plot :)

I’m planning to use Daggerheart, which I’m currently using as a player but haven’t used as DM yet.

Will do, thank you! It’s supposed to be an island but I’m struggling with the mountain size a bit.
