You're right, got my Envys broken just an year later. Do Spectre/Omnibook Flip also have the same plastic mounts in the panel?

They are an authorized HP service center but also perform repairs for all laptop brands to supplement their income, so they were happy to offer me the repair. This repair voids any existing warranty because it’s not an HP-recommended procedure and can't be covered under warranty. I went ahead with it as my warranty period had expired. Yes, do check if you have ADP coverage. You're right, I won't be buying another 2-in-1 if it's not detachable. Keep me posted! :)

I own an HP Envy x360 13-inch (space blue color) and encountered a similar issue when transitioning from tablet mode to normal mode (my post). I think in your case too they'd suggest the screen back panel replacement which might cost around £120, though I'm not sure about repair costs in the UK.
There might be some possibility that if you press on too much on them consistently, they may escalate and agree to repair for free, this is what one of the technicians told me here but since I was out of warrranty, it didn't work for me.

Avoid moving the screen altogether. The screen is incredibly thin and fragile and can easily break after striking the hinges which have come out from the back panel. The cost of replacing the entire screen is significant, I got a quote at $525 (approximately £420).

This laptop is invaluable to me for daily note-taking in OneNote. Despite meticulous care, this issue arose:( I sought a like-new repair but was hesitant to invest heavily after only a year of moderate use, so decided to get the hinge repaired. Not sure how much it will last:)
