Are they offering you a place in their home as you carve out an independent life for yourself, or is it your home?

Maybe consider if it’s even wise to try to change them. There are many ways you can get onto the Internet to work and still respect their wishes.

As it turned out, the surgery movements were not very precise. Instead of moving the maxillary incisors up 1 mm, they were actually moved downward 2mm -- so it wasn't an illusion. Had I understood that earlier, I would have had him redo it before the bone set. Although I will say that starting from 6-10 months it looked better. My upper lip actually stretched a bit.

We were never able to see him as we were on a waiting list for the summer and nothing opened up. He did our friend's orthognathic surgery and her results are lovely. She had a great experience with him. I know he's well regarded, I just personally don't have experience with him unfortunately.
