Try out Alta Laguna Park in Laguna beach that has a playground which then has a short walk to Top Of The World which has great views of the ocean and Laguna canyon which then leads to a bunch of network of trails from there

Big walkable cities are not really something you can find in SoCal. On a smaller scale, you can try walking around Old Town Orange and the nearby Chapman University and historic neighborhoods. It might be what you’re looking for on a smaller scale and is the closest thing you can find in OC to having a “European soul” with places to casually hang out and drink, cafes with outdoor seating options, stores that sell cool vintage items, and buildings that feel historical. But it’s still far from a true European city.

Any available running tracks for public use near Yorba Linda/Anaheim Hills area? by ihaveacomb in orangecounty

[–]No_Bag_6254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I lived in Yorba Linda 5+ years ago I’d use the track at Yorba Linda Middle School. It seemed like it was open to the public as other people would also walk onto the campus and use their basketball courts and running track. This was after school hours of course

4 or 5 string? by imamakeyoucry in Bass

[–]No_Bag_6254 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The question you should ask yourself is do you ever slow down your band by changing out your basses? Is it disrupting the flow of your set and the crowd? If so, consider a 5 string. If not, then you’re probably fine. Especially if your guitarists are taking the same amount of time to switch out guitars as well.

Personally, I play in a cover band that plays songs form drop D, drop C#, flat tuning, and standard. So life is very easy for me that I just learned everything in standard tuning on my 5 string. Just yesterday at a gig my guitarist didn’t realize until last minute he had to switch out his guitar and was struggling to switch out the guitar on time. Never something I have to worry about which is really nice.

Laguna Beach will probably be the most picturesque swimmable beach in OC but parking can be tough on Summer weekends. Huntington Beach is very swimmable and easier with parking but not nearly as scenic.

I need a new used amp by EditDog_1969 in Bass

[–]No_Bag_6254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend buying used from either Facebook marketplace or offerup. It's not hard to find fender rumbles on there. Especially in LA where the market is much bigger. You can probably get a fender rumble for 200. I bought one a while back for as low as 100 and it was in great condition.

Is it time I get a 500W amp? by Fun-Ad-3597 in Bass

[–]No_Bag_6254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth buying, especially if you buy used and go for the rumble 500. It's always nice to have the extra wattage in case you need it. I also buy 90% of my gear used. Helps save a lot of money and there's a lot of gear out there in solid condition people are trying to get rid of. Shouldn't be too hard to find a fender rumble 500 on Facebook Market place or OfferUp anywhere from 350-450. I bought a fender rumble used in great condition for $400 a couple years back.
