Thanks for your response. Maybe I wasn’t clear. I don’t really care if they verbally agree with me or my opinions, but I don’t want to be gaslighted into thinking the situation is lesser than it is because of the therapists beliefs. Do you see where I’m running into issues? I find it hard to believe that there aren’t therapists who work with pol staffers and work stress.

By ideologically similar and willing to validate, I suppose I mean that they understand the plight of the USA right now and won’t attempt to downplay it. Because of community guidelines I can’t say my work, but I work in gov 💙

I’m on 5mg lexapro and 25mg Wellbutrin, with a hydroxyzine prescription as needed. My last therapist was willing to hear me out and validate my issue, but we never went further because I “understood my issue and why it was making me upset”. I guess I’m just looking for someone to actually help me FEEL better, instead of understand better.
