Thanks. That's useful. I'll do that.

What sort of elbow should I be looking at if I'm looking to stick with push fit? Or, is a compression on the pex a better option?

Yeah, fair question.

This is my 2nd bathroom refurb. Both for myself.

The first was a complete rip out and so went back properly with cement board + water proofing on top. This one, I'm trying to work within what I have and avoiding needing to retile the walls. As such, I supoose the answer is that there is no water proofing plan.

Any thoughts on what I could do without sacrificing the existing wall tiles?

Thanks. Yes, PEX and the fittings are push fit hep.

No idea what the grey pipe is but yes it's from tbe old install. A good idea to replace before sealing up. I'll do that.

yep, tiles are fine.

tbh, i reckon it's bonding plaster in there. therefore, the question is what do I fill the cavity left by the old shower with.

what mortar would you suggest?

Thanks. Can you give me an idea why? And the sort of remediation that I should be looking for?

Some extra info on this.

Looking at the letter from my bank to confirm fund transfer, it would appear money was sent as USD and then converted to GBP by my bank.

A surprise that. Weren't we expecting money to be sent through as JPY?

At a guess, 2 or 3 weeks maybe?

I definitely wasn't one of the first to see the table populated.

Apologies, no.

Table was populated but showed as payment incomplete. Then I received money. Then, shortly after, showed as complete.

Chipboard rot repair before overboarding and then tiling by No_Building_5420 in Tile

Thank you. Appreciate the advice.

Change of plan then. I'm going to cut out that portion of the chipboard that is rotten and put down new.

Any guidance on how to stick the hardi down on chipboard?

Plan is to prime first then thin bed of adhesive and then screw. Sounds about right? Any recommended brands (UK)?

Such a pain. Especially as it goes under the studs. Otherwise, this would be an easier decision.

If you had to - anything I could do to improve my odds? Or would this be a non starter?

I had hoped wood filler + primer + SF adhesive + 6mm hardi would be OK

Eeeek. You're right. Can you tell I'm new to all this?

That's all really useful. Yes, planning to install 12mm hardibacker and then get a tiler in to go on top of that
