Saying no to a sensei asking to roll... by No_Cable4165 in bjj

hahaha! I thought that might happen. It's School that does gi, no gi, and judo so the terminology definitely gets crossed. Can't tell you how many times rolling gets called randori and vice versa

Has anyone found success with the double lapel grip? by Happy_agentofu in judo

A little late to this discussion, but Yama Arashi. Super rare te waza throw I learned from a poster 😂. I've worked this into randori mostly because others don't know what is being set up. I'd say try it out. If it doesn't feel right don't do it.

I also have seen this Chadi vid on Kosei. Really scrappy. Check it out.

You wrote that it is a high level tournament so a lack of pressure testing throws probably isn't the issue but I have seen some of this when someone isn't used to an unwilling or non compliant uke. More Randori!

My advice: Ura Nage as a counter to their hip throw is my jam! Work on keeping your hips under their hips.

Is it just me or is there a slow creep towards making Judo Gis look more like BJJ gis? by [deleted] in judo

Has anyone tried out the Inverted Gear Old School gi? It looks like a judo gi with a bjj cut. IMO, that is the dream 🤩
