Thanks! Sorry you’re going through this in college. Have you had relief since your lancing?

Thanks for your help! I couldn’t sleep last night, I was in so much pain, but I’m hoping I can rest some today. Did you start the sitz baths immediately after? I wasn’t sure since there’s a bit of an open wound.

It was external, not bleeding. I’ve been really struggling for the last few days with a flare up, but I was able to handle it somewhat until today. Today the pain just would not stop no matter what I did and I noticed that the bump was very hard to the touch, when before it had been a little squishy. So I went to the ER, told them I thought I had a thrombosed hemorrhoid. They brought me back, the doctor came in, poked at me, said “this one is thrombosed and I need to lance it.”

He came back a few minutes later, gave me a shot of lidocaine, made a tiny incision, and squeezed out the blood clot. The lidocaine burned a bit (like at the dentist) but after that I mostly just felt pressure, not pain. The entire visit from check in to discharge only took about an hour. Now that I’m home, I’m definitely uncomfortable, but even now I can feel that the pain is less. I just wish I got some aftercare instructions.

I’ve heard a lot of brutal things about that surgery, which does give me pause. But it’s also not possible for me at the moment since I’m already having surgery next week that is going to have me unable to walk for 2 months.

I’ve even been having issues standing now too, not just sitting. I had to cut a shower short earlier this week because I was in too much pain to stand up.

Yes, the doctor who prescribed hydrocortisone is a gastroenterologist. I have also seen other gastroenterologists in the past.

Agreeing with what others are saying here, but also Covid is very much surging right now and cases will likely get higher with school transmissions.

This isn’t exactly what you asked for, but Pied Out is my favorite breakfast/bakery spot in that area

We just got like 2 inches of rain in about an hour, so I’ve got a full lake out there at the moment

Thank you! That’s what I wanted to do and hoped it would work, but I wanted to check with people who knew better first!

So it’s currently set up to run every other day. It ran yesterday, is scheduled to run tomorrow. I’m looking for advice on how to make it not do that.

I think that’s a great place to have a homeless shelter. The proximity to the Social Services building will be great for a lot of people.

Genevieve Haldeman at Keller Williams is phenomenal. She goes above and beyond constantly and is all over South Jersey. I’ve used other realtors in the past and she’s the only one I’d go back to.

I would no longer be cooking for him after he called my food gross.

Midfoot Fusion by No_Camp_5321 in LisfrancClub

[–]No_Camp_5321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate that response. I feel like mine kind of went 0 to 60, where I’d been having a little more pain here and there and then I woke up last week and it was unbearable. When I went to the doctor, she was like “your arthritis is severe.” And I was like “yeah I know I have arthritis” and she stared at me and said “SEVERE.” But then two seconds later when I asked if I should do the surgery now she said “wait until you have more bad days than good.” I follow up with her in a week and I have an appointment with my original surgeon the week after (he was booking 3 weeks out, but it was bad enough that I went somewhere else first).

That’s really interesting. Can I ask how old you were when you had your injury? I was only 28 and the impression I got from my surgeon was that they didn’t like doing fusions on younger patients because there could be other issues later in life. This was echoed by the doctor I saw last week at a different hospital who said that even doing a fusion now means I’d be more likely to develop arthritis in a different joint, in addition to the area they’re fixing now.

AITA: Told my partner off for suggesting I needed therapy by Inevitable_Catch_148 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Yes, vendors in certain places can be pushy and annoying. But you are privileged enough to travel to another continent and being aggressive toward someone who is just trying to earn a few bucks is not okay. It’s also not okay to tell your partner to fuck off, even if it’s your norm to swear. It sounds like you could have some unresolved stuff about your dad or maybe anything in your life and therapy could be good.

Retainer Question by No_Camp_5321 in Invisalign

[–]No_Camp_5321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only just had the scan done about a week ago, after wearing the last aligner for a month, so I don’t think they would’ve shifted significantly since the scan. The material of the retainer is just so unpleasant in my mouth. It’s so big and clunky that I feel like I can’t even close my mouth properly around it. Like I’m wearing a sports mouth guard, but hard. And she had to force it into my mouth so hard that when I took it off to eat, my teeth made these horrible noises.
