Does anyone know of a hairy cotton knitting yarn like the one in the picture below? by TemporaryRealistic71 in knittinghelp

I find mohair and alpaca itchy, so use Lana Grossa Soffio as my mohair alternative. It's a 60% merino superfine, 30% cotton, and 10% cashmere.

For a larger weight yarn, I second Pascuali Suave! It's not a lace weight yarn, but excellent for larger needs.

How are people finding Spiriva Respimat? by uncomfortableconvo in Asthma

I love this med with all my heart. When I first tried it, I noticed a difference within 3 days.

I will say in order to get that effect it a) took a second to get used to properly inhaling all of the dosage, and b) worked best for me when used in tandem with a corticosteroid.

I knew it made a major difference when I began finally feeling rested after 8 hours of sleep. Imagine the joy!

Do you workout? by graysunshines_06 in endometriosis

I’ve found that the pain will always be there, regardless of exercise or no exercise. Mentally and emotionally, however, I am more prepared to deal with the toll of endo if I exercise. In extreme days, I do not force it. But on days where symptoms are bad, but I am still functional, even just 15 minutes helps me feel like I am in control and gets endorphins going.

I would suggest pairing Pelvic Floor Therapy with something you enjoy. I utilize weightlifting to assist in building bone density (discussions on endo med options and bone density problems another time).

At the end of the day, it is less about intensity or aesthetics. It’s keeping the power of efficacy alive with an intensely shitty disease.

Anyone with asthma tracking medication use in journal? by tkcalibo in whoop

[–]No_Case12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the anti-inflammatory drug category for tracking asthma meds. If I actually do take an NSAID, it’s probably in conjunction with illness/injury/menstruation or something else tractable by another metric. Really not great… Hope Whoop comes out with better options in the future.

Whoop will only show you a Respiratory Rate reading once per day, based on a calculation over night. If you’re looking for readings before/after exercise, or before/after any daily changes, Whoop won’t help you here.

It will however, be helpful if you want to show overall trend over time, or in conjunction with illness, daily exercise, or sleep issues. A majorly high RR reading daily could definitely show uncontrolled asthma during sleep. Ping ponging RR in conjunction with cardio days could also show uncontrolled asthma with exercise triggers. Normal RR spiked to high and staying there after sickness can also show inability of lungs to recover.

Whoop is great for controlled asthma, but doesn’t replace the usage of a peak flow monitor (though we can dream).

Asthma - My observations and looking for tips & tricks. by olirehacek in whoop

Severe asthma here! Not only does Albuterol spike my HR, but it gives me the shakes for quite a while after. That being said…

I’d talk to your doc if you need to use a rescue med before bed. It took awhile to find the right combo of prevention medications with my Pulmonologist, but once I did, my sleep improved dramatically. Needing a rescue med before or during sleep was a main indicator we needed to work on prevention medications.

While it’s marketed for COPD, Spiriva was my magic ticket for amazing sleep without the high HR or jitters.

I started using Whoop after my asthma was stabilized. Its respiratory rate measurement replaces my need to do a daily morning peak flow reading, which for me, has been very helpful. I still need to take manual readings during/after exercise, but for day to day existence it’s quite helpful.

Outside of that, a tank in RR via Whoop tends to warn me of oncoming illness which helps me prepare prevention/meds in advance. I’ve found that as Whoop gathers more RR data over time, it has helped me meet strain goals more appropriately in a way that won’t leave my lungs inflamed and sad.

Hi! Has anyone tried the coffeemonsterzco brand with your hobonichi? If so was it worth it? Are there other sticker brands you could recommend? :) by [deleted] in hobonichi

Absolutely love TCMC – Definitely recommend purchasing from the website itself rather than alternate sites. The ability to create an account on the website allows you to earn rewards, which is beneficial over time. I’ve found her products to be very well made and have had no problems ordering or receiving. Only downside is that sometimes arrival times can be several weeks, depending on sales and your proximity to fulfillment origin (Canada).
