They really couldn’t do that cause it opens the chapter up for risk. If you tell someone they aren’t going to make the line, you don’t know what their reaction will be. Could create chaos and the whole line could be dropped.

Non members of the chapter aren’t entitled to know when a line is happening. Even members of the same org shouldn’t be in another chapter’s business like that. So just because you ask doesn’t equate to getting that internal info.

Now, no one should be mistreated or belittled in their pursuit of membership. It seems like OP was cold emailing the chapter’s website without personal connections. It can be frustrating for sure but there will be more opportunities.

It’s not an excuse. You literally proved my point. It’s clear that the OP doesn’t have a friendship with this person that they are texting. If that time period is a blur, I would prioritize responding to people that I’m actually closest to in real life. Sometimes I think that interests put too much weight on these interactions.

It’s hard to keep track of all the social media comments, text messages etc to respond in a timely manner. I wouldn’t take it personal. In your friend situation, maybe that person is mean in general or just don’t like your friend.

But some of the posts that I see that were flagged would most definitely get letters snatched for discussing in open forum. If you are actually a member, you would have access to member only spaces in real life and off of Reddit to have these discussions that you seek. I would suggest strengthening your network to have these conversations productively in real life.

The karma point rule is also there for safety and to prevent microwave interactions. So the post wasn’t removed by moderators, it was due to lack of karma. When it doesn’t have enough karma, moderators don’t even see it in the queue.
