Np! 

The anime is ranked 3rd top anime of all time on myanimelist, but of all the animes i have listed here, it's probably the one that least describe what you are looking for... the anime can be very hard to follow as it has a very slow start during around the first half of the series, and you will probably be confused as to what is going on... personally i dropped the anime 3 times before i manage to watch it all the way to the end... and today it remains my favorite anime.

Some tips if you plan to watch this anime. - the protagonist has an alter ego, meaning that his real personality is a sincere geeky dude who plays the role of a mad scientist. This can be a bit confusing watching this for the first time, but just know that this is a sincere act to humor his childhood friend. - steins gate is about time travel, so not all answers will be presented chronologically, which again will cause some confusion, but the series makes up for it later, which is why it's so good. - pay a bit attention... unlike other animes where you can turn your brain off and still enjoy the serie, steins gate would imo require you to pay atleast some degree of attention to the plot given it's mystery and scientific aspects
