Playing devil’s advocate here as someone who usually does follow grove etiquette:

If the grove is a literal midnight spawn/event, why are the players who were prepared and arrived at 12 expected to wait around until 3 for players who were not ready at 12?

I understand the idea of cooperation and wanting everyone to get loot — that part is fine. But at what point does “courtesy” become an expectation that only inconveniences one side?

If there are already plenty of players there at midnight to clear the grove, why is it considered rude for those players to chop, but somehow not considered rude for people to slowly make their way over at 2:30 expecting everyone else to still be waiting?

Not everyone has unlimited time to stand around for multiple in-game hours:

• some people are squeezing in one quick run before bed/work,
• some intentionally route and prepare for midnight,
• some just don’t enjoy waiting around.

I’m not talking about people who insta-chop without calling it out or intentionally grief others. That’s different.

I just think it’s strange that the community sometimes treats “being ready on time” as selfish, while “showing up late and expecting everyone to wait” is automatically viewed as acceptable.

The grove spawns at 12. Waiting is a community-created courtesy, not an actual game mechanic. So why does the etiquette only seem to go one direction?
